Manchester United rubber-stamped their progress last night.

But a second consecutive all-English final (Chelsea beat Arsenal in Baku last year) is not possible because United would meet Wolves in the semi-final in Cologne on 16 August if they both get that far.

    Wolves v Olympiakos (Agg: 1-1, 20:00 BST)

Wolves’ Europa league campaign began over a year ago, playing their first qualifying game against Crusaders on 25 July 2019.

To put that into context, that's a day after Boris took over from Theresa May as Prime Minister.

Good grief. That feels about five years ago at least...

Wolves last progressed to the quarter finals of a major European competition back in 1972 in the Uefa Cup, going on to reach the final that season in which they were beaten by Tottenham.
