  1. Rangers clear at top ahead of Sunday gamespublished at 20:01 British Summer Time 29 August 2020

Rangers' win in Hamilton breaks today's run of home wins, with Kilmarnock, Livingston and St Johnstone all taking full points earlier.

Steven Gerrard's side go three points clear at the top of the Premiership, but Hibs tomorrow have the chance to draw level again on points, if not on goal difference, when they entertain an Aberdeen side fresh from a convincing win in Europa League qualifying.

That's in the later kick-off. In the earlier one, Scotland's other Europa League victors, Motherwell, visit Celtic, with the champions looking to bounce back from their Champions League exit and narrow the nine-point gap between themselves and their city rivals.

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard refused to be critical of his players for not scoring more at Hamilton.

“We’re happy with the result," he tells Sky Sports. "I thought we were a little bit wasteful. I think we need to be more clinical. I can’t complain too much – three points, clean sheet.

“We’d certainly have taken this position at the start of the season.”

Talking about equaling Celtic's 114-year record for six clean sheets at the start of a season, he adds: “Collectively, they’ve done it as a unit, they deserve a lot credit.”

Rangers go three points clear at the top of Premiership after a win over Hamilton that was far more comfortable than the scoreline suggests.

Indeed, Steven Gerrard's side will be kicking themselves for not making it even more emphatic and further improving their goal difference.

In the end, they have to make do with first-half goals from Ianis Hagi and James Tavernier.

He’s been very vocal, screaming at his players trying to deliver some instructions from the dugout.

His disappointment maybe starting to show as the game looks to be slipping away from his side.
