That's a really good goal from Crystal Palace - a simple goal. The Southampton centre backs just get in the wrong position.

GOAL - Crystal Palace 1-0 Southamptonpublished at 15:17 British Summer Time 12 September 2020

    Wilfried Zaha (13 mins)

Breakthrough! Against the run of play the hosts lead and it's a fine goal too. Andros Townsend gets away down the right and stands up a cross and Wilfried Zaha converts with a clinical side-foot volley. Stuck that away nicely for just a second goal in 22 games!

It's a really confident start from Southampton, they look like they have a great plan.

They look so confident and they look like they've started exactly where they left off at the end of last season.

Crystal Palace have been under the cosh in the opening moments of the game.

Lovely football, Southampton triangling their way through the Palace right-hand side with some beautiful one-touch passing. In the end though Ryan Bertrand's cross is well cut out and Palace go straight up the other end and win a corner of their own.

    Promising opening this.

Nice and sharp again from the Saints as they very nearly get danger man Danny Ings in on goal. Palace are on the back foot so far.

Decent chance comes from that corner too as Jack Stephens is able to win a header and send it on goal - straight at Vicente Guaita in the Palace net though.

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Southampton

    Rob Green
Former West Ham and England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

Crystal Palace were desperate for last season to end.

They couldn't create chances, they couldn't get goals and they ran out of options.

On the other hand, Southampton didn't want it to end. So you've got one side saying let's keep going - and the other looking for a fresh start.

The Saints were one of the better sides to watch during the tail end of the Premier League restart so it will be interesting to see how they get up and running here.

    They win an early corner.

    Arsenal

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta to BT Sport: "I wanted to see my team determined with a lot of energy and do the things we did in training. We did it today.

"Gabriel didn't play for six months before today. Mohamed Elneny was brilliant. He has been excellent in training since day one. I know him well - we played together. Today he was phenomenal. All the boys tried really hard."

On the Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang contract situation: "I'm really positive we'll get it done. Hopefully in the next few days you can get some news."

  16. Don't let it get you downpublished at 14:54 British Summer Time 12 September 2020

    Fulham 0-3 Arsenal

    Fulham

More from Fulham manager Scott Parker: "Come Monday morning the important thing is we come in and look at our mistakes. There is disappointment but also realism because we are going to lose matches this year.

"Set plays are vitally important. We looked a little accepting. I want the referee to step in because my centre-half is manhandling someone.

"There is a realism here. Teams that struggle in this league are teams that let things get to them. We may lose two or three on the bounce, the important thing is to not let defeats get to you."

I feel like now is the time for Wilfried Zaha to go, If he's going to go to that next level and try to win trophies. He's definitely a £40-50m player.

He can change a game by himself - he is Crystal Palace's main man. The fans and club look to him and it makes it very difficult because if you're the owner you'd value him at at least £70m.
