Think Sheffield United could be relegated this season. A well drilled championship squad. No pace, no real inventiveness and teams will find them out. A touch of second season syndrome. Not being knee jerk, thought it for some time.

A clearance looks to send Billy Sharp over the top but he's up against Adama Traore. A slight mismatch on the pace front.

They really do. Dominant. Sheffield United look, to coin a Wilderism, miles off it though.

Who saw this start coming? Crazy stuff.

At least there's plenty of time to come back.

It doesn't get better than this for Wolves. It was a great ball in and it was a free header. Romain Saiss just guides it back towards goal, takes the pace off the ball and Aaron Ramsdale just couldn't get there.

    Sheffield United 0-2 Wolves

That's the first time Wolves have scored twice in the opening six minutes of a Premier League game.

Not many sides do, to be fair. United do at least get the ball into the Wolves area but it's cleared. Great ball in.

    Romain Saiss (6 mins)

The Blades have a nightmare here. Dreadful marking again, this time from a corner, as nobody gets close to Romain Saiss and he's able to bury a header over Aaron Ramsdale's dive and into the top corner.

    A shambles!

This is an amazing goal from Woves. It breaks down the left-hand side with Daniel Podence. John Lundrstram could have held him off but he dives in.

It's a wonderful ball in and Raul Jimenez looked calm and uses his instep to smash it into the roof of the net. It was a wonderful finish! Fantastic start from Wolves.

  10. GREAT SAVE!published at 5 mins

    Sheffield United 0-1 Wolves

Wolves have made a blistering start, popping the ball about at pace and finding space all over the pitch.

Aaron Ramsdale now has to make a very good save to deny Raul Jimenez a second!

    Raul Jimenez (3 mins)

    What a start!

An absolutely brilliant finish from Raul Jimenez. What a player!

Sheffield United won't be happy, they are caught out of shape on a turnover far too easily and Daniel Podence has all sorts of space down the left. He bends in a cross which finds the Mexican in space in the area beyond Jack O'Connell and he sidefoots on the bounce into the roof of the net from about 15 yards.

    Cracking goal!

It's fascinating when Adama Traore gets the ball because he takes you off your seat. I love watching him play. The front three can help by keeping the Sheffield United back five further away to give him that space.

It surely is. Chris Wilder normally wins the league in his second season in a division though.

Aaron Ramsdale is out in short sleeves, a big day for the new/old £18m keeper.

    Ready?

It was a remarkable season for Sheffield United (in 2019-20). I kept thinking is this too far? You talk about momemtum, drive and every day the players were fighting like it was their cup final every week. Will they keep that up? Will they be more comfortable? And there's respect for them now. It's always tougher in the second season.

Impressive that Conor Coady has not missed a single minute of Premier League football since Wolves came back up in 2018 - that record continues.

Udo: Harnessing the brilliance and the individual skills of the new squad won't be a child's play. Wishing Lampard the very best.

John Moran: Anyone else born in the 80s get especially nostalgic at Nuno's pitchside kit sporting "NES"? Super Nuno
