I missed that as a result of Oskar Buur coming on Wolves had moved Adama Traore back up front and he whistles a crunching drive over from about 25 yards out.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard wastes no time using his new firepower with German duo Kai Havertz and Timo Werner straight in against Brighton.

Lampard's other high-profile signings sit this out, with Hakim Ziyech and Ben Chilwell injured and Thiago Silva only just joining training.

Kepa Arrizabalaga is back in goal but it does not sound like it will be for long with an imminent deal for Rennes keeper Edouard Mendy an open secret.

And there is not even a place on the bench for Fikayo Tomori, wanted by Everton on loan, despite Lampard's apparent reluctance to sanction a move.

The home side send on Dave McGoldrick for Chris Basham and go to a back four, and straight away they threaten but Billy Sharp can't turn a George Baldock cross on target.

That was classic counter-attacking. Raul Jimenez just ran right through the middle and the awareness and composure was there. Romain Saiss goes across the goalkeeper and Aaron Ramsdale tips it onto the post. It was another wonderful opportunity from counter-attacking football.

That really should be game over, but Aaron Ramsdale has his first blinder of a save back at the Blades.

Oli Norwood gifts the ball away in midfield and Wolves are three on three, Raul Jimenez finds Romain Saiss surprisingly up on his shoulder and Ramsdale pushes his piledriver onto the post.

Jimenez puts the rebound wide.

Wolves make a change to try to stop United from getting up a head of steam - forward Pedro Neto is replaced by Oskar Buur. Who I think is more of a full-back.

United look much more like their usual selves in the second half, they are stretching Wolves and finding space. They just went 2-0 down so early on they've made life super hard.

Billy Sharp gets in again on the left but again his cross is cut out. Then another Sharp cross is put behind by Conor Coady.

Romain Saiss is fine to continue.

Sheffield United 0-2 Wolves

Romain Saiss is down in a heap after the latest Sheffield United corner and he looks in a bad way. To be honest I couldn't really see what happened to him. Someone stand on his foot maybe?

He's got the physios out there anyway.

The next goal is massive in this one. Billly Sharp gets away down the left again but is eventually chased down at the expense of a corner.

Billy Sharp just manages to get inside the area. He normally takes the shot on and his pass just flashes across the goal. That was better from Sheffield United. It was so close!

They're a different side! Now the overlaps are there, the triangles appear down the left and there's movement between the lines. John Egan gallops forward and plays Billy Sharp in behind the Wolves defence, he squares it and John Lundstram is an inch away from a tap-in.

Chelsea

Brighton hand a debut to Adam Lallana while Chelsea have a lot of expensive German talent in their attack.

Yep it was a great run in behind from John Lundstram, something that was lacking in the first half.
