I was a big fan of Ole as a player but as manager of United he's totally out of his depth...No passion from the touch line like Fergie..And why he's playing Lindelof again today after last weeks debacle I'll never know..Toughen up a bit Ole or you'll be packing your bags.

    Brighton thoroughly deserve that.

And now Nemanja Matic is into the book for an outstretched arm into the face of Aaron Connolly.

    Only a yellow?

James: The criticism of United is a little over the top. Worst side ever? They finished 3rd last season and reached the semi final of Europa. The side need more quality in the squad though. And I do wonder about the coaching... Would Poch get more from players?

James Beswick: We have played 3% of the season, and the abuse is already coming out for Ole and the team. No team seems to attract more bitterness than Manchester United - off the basis of one (and a third) poor performances. Patience.

    Brighton 0-0 Man Utd

Brighton have a free-kick which is swung in by Leandro Trossard, no Seagulls player is going to get on the end of it and instead of letting it run out of play, Harry Maguire decides to flick it away for a corner.

    So, so edgy.

Luckily for the visitors, the resulting set-piece comes to nothing.

United fans need to realise that the marathon 19/20 season (and the pandemic) are going to have both financial and performance implications for this season and maybe even next. We can't expect to be as fresh as other teams or to spend as freely as previously. Constant moaning about them being tired doesn't help anyone.

Not a great attacking start from Utd's front 3 (or defensive tbh), with only Lingard as an attacking option on bench - it can only get worse.....

Kaushik Gorai: The issue with Solksjaer is that he is too hell-bent on emulating Man United of the past but he doesn't want (or know) how to make a team with modern attributes (like Liverpool and Man City) to compete with the best.

Aditya Thakkar: After being beaten at home by Palace, you would think Man Utd would come out and make a statement today but they clearly have picked up from where they left off the last Premier league game

Paul: Brighton are the better team so far. Man Utd used to be a team to be feared but no one will be too worried at facing them given the joke they they are now. If they don't sign anyone else they'll be lucky finish top 6.

  20. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 33 mins

Having said that, United do have the ball in the back of the net through Mason Greenwood's finish from 12 yards out, but Marcus Rashford was a couple of yards offside in the build-up.
