Liverpool
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp speaking with Sky Sports: "Super game. Really good game from both teams. I like our game a lot. Chelsea are a top side. Our own football I liked in the first half, really good situations, passed through the line but we didn't score.
"After the red card, the second half is a different game. We kept the ball rolling, let them run, scored the goals, conceded a penalty, Ali saved it, so all good. Everybody had a hand in the result.
On Timo Werner: "Timo is a good player. No real tactic that you can defend against him when he has the ball, but Fab played very well. If Sadio hadn't scored two goals then Fab gets man of the match."
On the goals: "I loved both goals for different reasons. Top header, but I loved the movement from Sadio, which is why he can score,
"The second goal he gets the reward for pressure on the keeper. I liked it. I liked both goals."
On Thiago's debut: Top timing. He played with Spain and trained with Munich so he's fit, that's not problem. He needs to get used to your his team-mates, but when they went one man down it became the perfect game for him. I liked his game a lot. Defensively it was tricky for him, but offensively, with the ball, that's him, he wants to pass the ball."

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp speaking to BBC Sport:
"It's always a tough game here. I liked the first half. It was two teams that wanted to play, create, defend and make things happen.
"They were the dominant side without goals but then a massive game-changer in the last seconds which was good for us. We had to adapt to that and we did.
"We decided to bring Thiago on early because it was 11 v 10 and a player like him can command the rhythm. It was the perfect start for him and the boys helped him massively."
On Alisson's penalty save: " I spoke to him about this [the rules] this morning. You can't change the rules so you have to adapt and maybe stand behind the line a bit more. The goalkeeper constantly makes the move before and Jorginho just puts it in the other corner. It's a clean sheet and he worked for it."

Everyone saying Chelsea haven't strengthen at the back have seemed to have forgotten that Chelsea have Thiago Silva and Chilwell to come in as well as Mendy expected to be announced as a new GK soon. Season is long and team need time to gel.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard speaking to Sky Sports: "We showed moments on the counter-attack when we were dangerous in the first half. My team talk was be more confident on the ball then the red card changes the whole team talk."
On Kepa's mistake: "My job as a manager is to try to give Kepa confidence. It was a clear mistake and Kepa accepted that."
On the result: "I am happier today in many ways than after Brighton. I saw spirit and desire to defend, the midfield giving everything. Players should take heart, it's how we go forward from now.
"With new faces we have got a month or so in pre-season. With the way we defended, I am very happy. We have to have time. Our process starts here. Our objectives and expectations are higher, but I saw a lot of character and spirit."

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard speaking to BBC Match of the Day:
"For chances the first half was very even. The red card changes the face of the game, the talk I do at half-time, it forces me into a reshuffle and it was always going to be difficult after that.
"I think it could be given or not. I was perhaps surprised it was given as a yellow first. If it was given as a red straight away and you continue with that."
On Kepa's mistake:
"Big mistake. Clear mistake and when you reflect on the half without the mistake and the penalty we draw the game 1-1. I’m actually happier in many ways than I was after Brighton on Monday. It was a game of spirit and character and lots of individuals showed me good things today.
"I thought we could get higher up the pitch and would have done with 11. I was concerned with how we would defend our box, first half we were brilliant at doing it but the red card changed the whole course of the game."

Katvik: To sum up - CFC was set up to park the bus with a defence that is not capable to execute that. Having the white flag out even before a shot fired.....

Liverpool
Liverpool forward Sadio Mane speaking to Sky Sports: "It was a tough game especially in the first half. When they got the red card it made it easier and in the second half we made many chances, scored two goals and deserved to win."
On the sending off: "It was a great ball from Jordan. I am used to them because he is a great player. I tried to make the runs and when he [Andreas Christensen] made the foul I knew it was a red card."
On his goal and Thiago: "When he got the ball I knew it would be difficult for him to have another option and unlucky for him he made a mistake and I got the second goal for the team. Not only me, all the world know what Thiago is capable of so we are lucky to have him in our team. He is a great player."

Liverpool have made Chelsea look deflated after coming out at the start of the second half absolutely flying.
It was a disappointing day for Chelsea. I believe there is some good stuff to come from them. I've seen flashes today, Kai Havertz and Timo Werner looking sharp on the ball.
But Liverpool have been far better in every department and played like the champions, with a champion attitude as well.

Half-time substitute Thiago completed more passes (75) than any Chelsea player managed in the entire match.
Since full passing data is available for the Premier League (2003-04), his 75 successful passes are the most by a player who played a maximum of 45 minutes.

Two out of two for Liverpool.
£200m spent by Chelsea but a goalkeeper and backline that is as soft as a Mary Berry sponge cake.
Chelsea 0-2 Liverpool
Great turn by Mohamed Salah inside the box but the shot is straight at Kepa Arrizabalaga.
It falls for Georginio Wijnaldum a couple of yards out, with a gaping goal, but the Dutchman cannot sort his feet out and the ball rolls away from the target.
Chelsea 0-2 Liverpool
Almost the hat-trick for Sadio Mane as he takes aim from way out.
It takes a huge deflection off Fikayo Tomori and Kepa Arrizabalaga has to readjust to make a good save low to his right.

You can see the quality Chelsea have when the ball is at their feet, but we haven't seen enough of that today.

Pointless buying midfield and forwards, when everyone knows you start to build a team from the back. We're going to win nothing if the goalkeeper isn't replaced and defence strengthened. Nobody wants to take responsibility and take charge. Sorry Frank but Roman will be breathing down your neck sooner than you think if this continues. Mindset today was don't lose. Not good enough.

I would want to see more energy levels from Chelsea, even with 10 men.
Being a man down does make it difficult, but I would have wanted to see a little bit more.
Chelsea 0-2 Liverpool
Lovely outside-of-the-boot pass from Mohamed Salah, finding Virgil van Dijk six yards out.
The Dutchman pulls the ball down on his chest but Kepa Arrizabalaga is sharply off his line to smother it.
