Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen booked as he bundles over Sadio Mane as the last man.

Kepa Arrizabalaga had sprinted off his line but again was nowhere near it.

Chelsea win the ball back in the Liverpool half but Marcos Alonso heads straight at Alisson from Reece James' cross.

Kai Havertz swings it in but it sails away from danger.

Poor, no Chelsea man was able to get anywhere near it.

Now Chelsea have a free-kick in a promising position, on the angle of the box towards the left.

It comes after Jordan Henderson shoved Timo Werner down to the deck.

I am thinking get your laces on it, catch it beautiful, the pace is on the cross already, just hit the target and you have got every chance, but Andrew Robertson didn't quite get the technique right on that occasion.

Luckily for Werner, the linesman's flag goes up but that was a bad miss.

Could have done better?

Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson swings a first-time cross to the back post for the marauding Andrew Robertson, who is around eight yards out, but scuffs his volley wide.

Ooof, this was not too far away from being converted.

Mohamed Salah takes a touch and drills a brilliant cross across the six yard box, but it has too much zip on it and Roberto Firmino is unable to react quickly enough.

I don't know if this is a conscious thing by Andreas Christensen and Kurt Zouma but there has been the odd occasion when Christensen has had the opportunity to play the ball back to Kepa Arrizabalaga but he has decided to clear his lines instead.

Whether they are not confident in Kepa keeping the ball I'm not too sure but it is very clear to see they do not want to use the keeper as often as they normally would.

This is what the lad can do.

Chelsea front man Timo Werner comes alive in the final third, dragging the ball onto this left peg and bursting to the edge of the area.

No Liverpool defender can touch him, but the ex RB Leipzig man drags it wide of Alisson's left hand post.

This time a header to nick the ball away from Georginio Wijnaldum, who was looking to get on the end of Mohamed Salah's chipped pass.
