"On the counter-attack it’s 1-2. From that our heads are going down and a team with this quality kills you immediately.

"Playing offside all the time doesn’t work because of the rule that the linesman has to keep the flag down. It doesn’t make sense to do it like this.

Lamptey's cross is inches away from Aaron Connolly but it's deflected up and into the hands of Karl Darlow.

Neal Maupay's brace within seven minutes is the fastest a player has scored twice from the start of a Premier League match since December 2012, when Edin Dzeko scored twice in the first four minutes against Norwich.

Brighton break quickly and it's poked on by Aaron Connolly for Tariq Lamptey. His first touch is excellent and he's almost in on goal but it's a good recovery from the two Newcastle defenders chasing back.
