John McGinn wants a penalty, but the referee gives a free-kick the other way for a foul by the Aston Villa midfielder.

That all came from some lovely hold up play by Lyndon Dykes, who held off two defenders before spraying a pass to Ryan Christie wide left.

It was worked infield to McGinn, who tumbled over, to no avail. Referee Slavko Vinčić thinks he's used his weight to charge into an Israeli defender while in possession.

Both teams have been quite tidy in possession, without doing anything too much to threaten the other's defence. Israel have shown more intent so far.

Not too much to report from Hampden. Carry on.

The final ball is missing for Scotland right now. They're passing it about neatly around the Israeli box, but they can't find a way through.

Not a thrilling first quarter so far...

Israeli midfielder Natcho has some right peg on him. He's put in a number of delightful crosses, which so far Scotland's back three have managed to head clear.

It's all a bit too close for comfort for Scotland, though.

Manor Solomon is causing some problems down the left-hand side for Scotland.

Another sweeping move ends with the winger whipping in a cross, which is headed out for a corner, which is repelled by John McGinn.

I know Hampden has been half empty anyway in recent times, but it is very strange to hear it so silent.

Not even a sharp intake of breath as Ryan Christie lined up a long-ranger...which flies miles over.

A first sign of attacking threat by Israel as Solomon is played in down the left, but Scott McTominay and Ryan Christie get back to cut out his ball into the box.

Israel's number 11 gets into a similar space moments later, but the flag was up for offside.

A half chance there for Scotland. Ryan Christie's trickery and cross goes to the back post, but a white shirt beats John McGinn to the ball.

The resulting corner is also cleared. A decent start by Scotland!

Callum McGregor lunges in and steals the ball off the toes of Zahavi, but the referee deems the challenge a little heavy.

Israel have settled down and are stroking the ball about, but Scotland are pressing with intent.

It is indeed a back three, with Scott McTominay at right centre-back, Scott McKenna in the middle, and Kieran Tierney on the left.

It's been a fairly cagey opening couple of minutes, but Scotland have had most of the ball.
