She's pretty good Caroline Weir, isn't she?

Three brilliant crosses for City's goals in a week where her stunner in last season's Manchester derby was nominated for a Fifa Puskas award.

And that was the last touch of the half. A perfect opening 45 minutes from Manchester City.

Gareth Taylor is a very happy manager on the sideline.

Three assists now for Caroline Weir who marches upfield before putting in a brilliant cross for Janine Beckie.

And the Canadian gets her second goal against Everton in as many games with a powerful back-post header.

  4. goal

GOAL: Arsenal 2-0 Birmingham Citypublished at 15:22 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2020

    Jill Roord (62 mins)

The door has well and truly been blown down now at Meadow Park.

Jill Roord provides a nice, chipped finish which has too much for Birmingham goalkeeper Hannah Hampton.

That's her seventh of the season and those two goals in five minutes have taken this game away from the Blues.

    A long way back.

    Caitlin Foord (57 mins)

You couldn't say it hadn't been coming and Arsenal's dominance is rewarded with a goal and it's the Australian Caitlin Foord who bags it.

    And there's more...

    Everton 0-2 Man City

Former City midfielder Izzy Christiansen sends in a wide free-kick, but Danielle Turner's header is far too tame and easily kept out.

    Better from the Toffees though.

US international Rose Lavelle is clutching her knee after taking a knock in a sliding challenge.

She's back to her feet now, but isn't moving well at all. Seven minutes until the break.

    Sophie Baggaley beaten!

The Robins stopper was excellent in the first half but cant keep out Fara Williams from six yards.

In the next attack after the goal Williams then hits the bar!

  11. KICK-OFFpublished at 15:12 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2020

Back in action around the grounds.

Can Spurs and Bristol City get their first league wins of the season?

Will Arsenal break down the stubborn Birmingham defence?

    Let's find out shall we?!

    Everton 0-2 Man City

City's two centre-backs combine as Steph Houghton crosses in for Gemma Bonner who pokes an effort just over.

All City here. Everton are really struggling now.

  13. Postpublished at 15:08 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2020

    Everton 0-0 Man City

Everton keeper Sandy MacIver was player of the match in the FA Cup final last month against City.

There was nothing she could have done about either goal so far today.

    Everton 0-2 Man City

Should have been three. Janine Beckie - who scored against Everton in the FA Cup final - is sent clean through.

But the Canadian drags her effort narrowly wide. The Toffees are all over the place defensively.

  15. YELLOW CARDpublished at 15:05 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2020

    Everton 0-2 Man City

A yellow for Toffees striker Hayley Raso for a clash on the keeper. A little harsh I'd say.

She's the perfect number nine isn't she?

Caroline Weir sends in a brilliant cross and Ellen White's header loops over a helpless Sandy MacIver.

That's the quality we were after.

This game needs a bit of quality. Too much sideways passing right now.

  20. HALF-TIMEpublished at 14:54 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2020

Arsenal 0-0 Birmingham City; Spurs 1-1 Brighton; Reading 0-1 Bristol City

Kerys Harrop scores for TottenhamImage source, Reuters

We may have only seen a few goals and perhaps most surprisingly, none at Meadow Park, but the scorelines are set up for some very intriguing second periods.

A fine penalty save from Hannah Hampton has kept a dominant Arsenal out but the balance of play in that first half suggests they have a lot more work to do if they are to take a point back to Birmingham.

Spurs took an early lead against Brighton through a Kerys Harrop free-kick and went close again through Alex Morgan, before Inessa Kaagman's 33rd-minute penalty got the visitors back on level terms.

Bristol City and particularly goalkeeper Sophie Baggaley produced a fine rearguard action and sprung an excellent counter-attack to take the lead against the run of play through Emma Bissell shortly before half-time.
