Worth mentioning that the taking of the knee just before kick-off was enthusiastically applauded by supporters, even if West Ham appeared to forget as they kicked off, prompting the referee to restart.

It's pretty simple for Chelsea. Win the two games in hand they have over leaders Manchester United and their superior goal difference will take them back to the top.

Last time out a very late Lotte Wubben-Moy own goal against Arsenal rescued a point for the champions, breaking up a stretch of five straight wins in all competitions.

They face a West Ham side that have been leaky at the back. Seven games played and 20 goals conceded in the league, the Hammers have just one win in their last five.

  6. WATCH: Two WSL goals win Puskas award nominationpublished at 12:24 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2020

Who said the Women's Super League doesn't provide fireworks? Since we've been away two WSL goals have been nominated for the Fifa Puskas award. The winner will have been adjudged to have scored the most beautiful goal in world football.

Wales captain and Chelsea midfielder Sophie Ingle makes the list for her stunning volley against Arsenal back in January.

And Manchester City's Caroline Weir is also a nominee for her incredible match-winning strike in the very first Manchester derby in September, 2019.

Scrappy tap-ins on the menu today then?

  7. Leaders Man Utd continue winning wayspublished at 12:21 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2020

    Aston Villa 0-2 Man Utd

Who'd have predicted Manchester United to be top of the table at this stage of the season? At the start of the campaign I thought they'd finish fourth at best.

But yesterday, the league leaders maintained their unbeaten start with a goal in each half to earn a comfortable win over Aston Villa.

Casey Stoney's side recorded a sixth win in eight to go four points clear thanks to cool finishes from Leah Galton and Ella Toone at Bescot Stadium.

You can watch the highlights below. Can Chelsea keep in touch with a win today?

That's right. Chelsea's match with West Ham at Kingsmeadow will be the first WSL game to have fans back in the ground since the end of the recent nationwide lockdown in England.

Over 700 Blues season ticket holders will be socially distanced in the stands today.

Clubs in certain areas of England have been allowed a limited number of fans into their stadiums following a relaxation of coronavirus restrictions.
