  2. Postpublished at 21:24 British Summer Time 22 September 2020

    Luton 0-1 Man Utd

Confident from Dean Henderson as he receives a back-pass before just gliding past a Luton player and clearing the ball.

  3. Covid test results overshadow big winpublished at 21:24 British Summer Time 22 September 2020

    West Ham 5-1 Hull

It is a big win for West Ham, but for all the goals the game is sure to be overshadowed somewhat by the positive covid test for Hammers boss David Moyes and players Issa Diop and Josh Cullen, who were both withdrawn with 45 minutes to go until kick-off.

You can read more about that here.

  5. FULL-TIMEpublished at 21:22 British Summer Time 22 September 2020

    West Ham 5-1 Hull

A scoreline that was boosted by two late goals but reflects West Ham's superiority. The Hammers didn't need to be at their absolute best to cruise into round four and a tie with either Everton or Fleetwood.

  6. Postpublished at 21:21 British Summer Time 22 September 2020

    Luton 0-1 Man Utd

Luton forward Danny Hylton whips a cross in but nobody is there to get on the end of it. Hylton looks frustrated with his team-mates.

  7. goal

GOAL - West Ham 5-1 Hullpublished at 21:20 British Summer Time 22 September 2020

    Andriy Yarmolenko

    Messy now for Hull.

Yarmolenko adds a second goal to go with his two assists, firing in from Felipe Anderson's pull-back.

Hull now just praying to be put out of their misery.

  8. Postpublished at 21:20 British Summer Time 22 September 2020

    Luton 0-1 Man Utd

Luton did play well in the first half but Dean Henderson hasn't had to make a save yet (in his United career).

  9. KICK-OFFpublished at 21:19 British Summer Time 22 September 2020

    Luton 0-1 Man Utd

Luton get the second half under way.

  10. goal

GOAL - West Ham 4-1 Hullpublished at 21:18 British Summer Time 22 September 2020

    Sebastien Haller

    Well this was inevitable.

Only a minute or two ago I was giving Haller a bit of grief. His response is a neat bit of footwork to go around the Hull keeper and finish after being found by Lanzini.

    Fair play Sebastien. Cap doffed.

Go back to last August's demolition of Chelsea and everyone was predicting a United resurgence! It was Chelsea that 'kicked on ' and only an unbelievable end to the season brought some respectability One year on and an opening day loss it's all doom and gloom , it's a long season !!!!! Utd fans impatience is laughable.

    George from Warnham

I admire Ole so much as a player, and his energy is undoubtedly infectious but he simply doesn't have tactical nouse as a manger. Please please acknowledge it Ole, for your own sake.

    West Ham 3-1 Hull

Another Hammers chance goes begging as Haller blazes over. He has scored tonight but you can't help but feel a bit disappointed by him. He arrived with a big fee but doesn't quite punch his weight.

  13. Postpublished at 21:11 British Summer Time 22 September 2020

    West Ham 3-1 Hull

Robert Snodgrass has scored one goal already but his radar is off as another opportunity falls his way. He sizes up a shot from the edge of the box but curls his shot over.

  14. 'Man Utd should be dominating'published at 21:11 British Summer Time 22 September 2020

    Luton 0-1 Man Utd

    Clinton Morrison
Former Crystal Palace striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Luton have made nine or 10 changes as well but Manchester United have a team full of internationals and they should be dominating.

You must give credit to Luton, they've been excellent this evening. Manchester United have that goal so they should settle down now.

These [United] players are nowhere near fit enough yet, they need this game. It's difficult because you need these games as pre-season but it's a cup competition which United want to win.

The players have done alright but I can understand why Manchester United fans are frustrated because they feel they should be blowing Luton away.

  15. Postpublished at 21:08 British Summer Time 22 September 2020

    West Ham 3-1 Hull

Hull haven't been able to build on that Wilks goal as we move into the last 10 minutes at the London Stadium. The Tigers are still battling away, but it looks likely to be in vain.

  16. BRENTFORD GO THROUGHpublished at 21:07 British Summer Time 22 September 2020

West Brom 2-2 Brentford (4-5 on pens)

Christian Norgaard fires his penalty into the bottom corner to send the Bees into the next round and the Baggies out.

It's a bit of revenge for the promotion race that West Brom won last season. It'll be Fulham or Sheffield Wednesday in the next round for Brentford.

Mark: United were playing competitive matches, every 3 days, a month ago. And now they are expected to, holiday, pre season, and be match fit, in that time

If Man Utd are poor because no preseason then why aren't the first team getting game time? Preseason is usually against lower league opposition.

  18. MISSED PENALTYpublished at 21:05 British Summer Time 22 September 2020

Advantage Brentford! Raya dives the right way and palms away Grady Diangana's effort.
