Fernandinho plays a great ball forward which Kevin de Bruyne leaves run to Raheem Sterling.

Sterling cuts inside but runs into Luke Shaw. Literally. Quarter-hearted penalty appeals but the ref isn't interested.

Pep Guardiola just had a good old rant at the fourth official David Coote because the offside flag did not go up against Marcus Rashford just then.

It was a real old arm-waver.

It was offside but the officials are told not to raise their flags until the last moment.

I was just watching Anthony Martial and it's great to see him. The ball was pinged into him and as a centre-half you have to hold it and be really reliable and that's one thing he hasn't been very good at since he's been at United.

But he held the ball, stayed strong and kept possession for United. If he can keep doing that, they will find their way into this game.

Marcus Rashford is inches away from latching onto Fred's through-ball. Very close. The ball touched his toe on the way through to Zack Steffen.

Marcus Rashford is offside but play is allowed to continue for ages until he finds a team-mate. Flag eventually pops up.

Fred and McTominay look a little lost in this. Van de Beek would maybe have been a better fit for this game?

Rarish chance for United as Paul Pogba's shot is blocked. From the corner Harry Maguire glances a header just beyond Anthony Martial and Victor Lindelof.

This is a really good game. Man City have had most of the ball, United have been very, very organised.

It's a tough one tonight for Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire from what I have seen so far because yes, you have got Phil Foden down the left and - most of the time - Raheem Sterling down the right but the way they interchange these four players - Foden, Sterling, Mahrez and De Bruyne - it's hard for them to know when to go and when to stay.

Communication for the Manchester United defenders tonight is so important.

  12. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 25 mins

    Man Utd 0-0 Man City

City have the ball in the back of the net again but it's disallowed - one of those new ones that wastes everyone's time really.

Phil Foden is miles offside as he runs onto Oleksandr Zinchenko's ball from the halfway line.

He surely knows it, as does Dean Henderson and everyone else watching.

But they have to keep the flag down until the move is over. Foden runs 50 yards and slots home - and then it's disallowed.

Manchester City look very silky at the moment. They are just passing and moving, one and two touches, making it look really simple.

Manchester United at the moment are chasing, conserving their energy, going only when they have to go.

But...City are in control of this one.

Oleksandr Zinchenko just gets there to cut out Bruno Fernandes' through-ball to Marcus Rashford.

United are struggling to mount any attack at the moment but that would have been a big chance if Zinchenko hadn't stopped that.
