Oleksandr Zinchenko almost finds Kevin de Bruyne with a near cross-field ball.

No way I'd be able to tell those two apart if I wasn't wearing my glasses.

Wow! It's very rare you see someone strike a ball from 25-28 yards, it hit the post and come straight back to where you took the strike from. What an amazing strike from Kevin De Bruyne! Keeper was well beaten.

We've had almost everything except a goal now as City's Kevin de Bruyne hammers a shot from outside the box which has Dean Henderson beaten but crashes off the post.

Judging by the way Manchester City have started, I think Pep Guardiola is allowing Phil Foden to stay as far forward as possible on the left, Raheem Sterling on the right, forcing Manchester United to keep four defenders back.

City also have Riyad Mahrez and Kevin de Bruyne in the centre forward and number 10 position and they are just inter-changing. United don't know when to mark them.

Zack Steffen flaps at the resulting corner twice and then Riyad Mahrez tries to hoof it to safety but just kicks the ball into the air. A sloppy start from City really.

The first save of the game. City again gift the ball to United and Scott McTominay finds Bruno Fernandes, whose curling 20-yard effort is tipped round the post by Zack Steffen.

Great run as well from Ilkay Gundogan. He was actually on the inside of Phil Foden on the left-hand side and he made a run as if he wanted the ball, he knew exactly what he was doing, he dragged Aaron Wan-Bissaka in-field, left the space there but he was just offside.

  9. Postpublished at 6 mins

Joao Cancelo gifts the ball to United's Paul Pogba. He runs down the left but then his crossfield ball is just beyond Marcus Rashford.

    Action packed start.

People are quick to criticise Ole, but would Pep do a better job with this group of players or with the same resources as United? I'm not sure.

    It's 1-1... on disallowed goals.

City have started very well and Ilkay Gundogan pokes home Phil Foden's low ball across the six-yard box.

Gundogan, like Marcus Rashford, was offside.

It is pretty cold at Old Trafford tonight and United lead City 4-1 in the glove wearing department.

Anthony Martial and Riyad Mahrez have gone for the glove, short sleeves and no skin combination.

It's got to be so frustrating as a forward! Great little ball from Anthony Martial, great run from Marcus Rashford but he just went a second too early, a yard offside, linesman got it right.

  15. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 2 mins

    Man Utd 0-0 Man City

City get very, very lucky as United have a goal disallowed.

Marcus Rashford is played in for the hosts and has a shot which Zack Steffen saves but does not hold. The ball hits John Stones and loops past Steffen, who can't get to his feet quick enough, and into the net.

But Rashford was offside so it's disallowed.

McTominay and Fred will need to be switched on every second. City will be looking to exploit any gaps in central midfield.

The last time Manchester City wore blue shirts with no sponsor on the front in this stadium was in 2008 for the derby that coincided with the 50th anniversary of the Munich air crash.
