That's what Sergio Aguero needed. Marseille have made their subs trying to get this equaliser but it's not working for them and it's a good ball in and a great header by Nathan Ake. Aguero does what he's good at, he's the first one to react. The keeper spills it and Aguero can tap it in from a yard out, he'll be delighted with that.

Raheem Sterling races along the edge of the area before drilling a low shot which Steve Mandanda gets his full body behind.

The veteran keeper has certainly been kept busy ce soir.

Florian Thauvin is replaced by Marley Ake. Kevin Strootman (forever linked with a move to England) is on for Pape Gueye and Valere Germain is replaced by Darío Benedetto.

Marseille look like Brazil for a few moments as they edge deeper into the City half. However, the passes aren't really hurting the home side.

Marseille haven't made any subs - they've got a couple warming up by the looks. Marseille might as well go for it, if they lose by three or four then they lose by three or four but they're out of the competition so they might as well go for it.

To be fair I think they do want to go for it but City have upped the tempo so Marseille are struggling a bit.

Sergio Aguero comes on for City.

He's only managed a handful of minutes since October - in fact, he's only played in four matches in total this season.

Riyad Mahrez comes off.

Meanwhile, Michael Cuisance comes on for Payet and Valentin Rongier is on for Boubacar Kamara.

He has come out to warm-up and keeps checking to see if the fourth official is watching him run up and down the touchline. If he isn't, Aguero runs on the bit his team-mates were warned off before.

He has also been having a chat to one of the photographers.

He is coming on now. That might be no laughing matter for Marseille.

Marseille are finding it so difficult to make their way deep into the City half.

They lose possession which eventually allows Kyle Walker to thump a November the fifth of a rocket which Steve Mandanda has to punch clear.

Manchester City just sent Gabriel Jesus, Benjamin Mendy and Kevin de Bruyne to warm-up.

As soon as they ran out, they were pursued by the fourth official, who gave them a stern warning.

I am not sure they knew what they had done wrong, so a member of the City coaching staff intervened.

It turned out they were running on the side of the pitch rather than the dark green area next to it.

They should've been in front in the first half - Marseille have come at it again but it's a good move. Riyad Mahrez on the front foot, cuts inside lovely lay off and Ferran Torres just hits it with his right foot and the keeper has no chance from that distance.

Raheem Sterling was at the heart of that move - it seems his introduction has really thrown Marseille off-kilter somewhat.
