I'm almost 100% convinced that tonight will be the game that changes Liverpool's fortunes.

It is a veritable feast of football tonight because as well as the Champions League there's also Premier League action with Manchester City currently leading Southampton 3-1 - follow that one here.

In the Championship Barnsley entertain Derby with the home side looking to make it eight wins in a row. You can follow that one here.

Liverpool's 'home' game is being held at the same venue as their 'away' game.

We're at the Puskas Arena in Budapest. It served Liverpool well for the first leg, same again for the second?

PSG forward Neymar has once again been ruled out of a meeting with his former side Barcelona.

The Brazil international missed the first leg with a thigh injury but only returned to partial training with the squad last week.

Neymar has scored 12 goals in 17 competitive fixtures this season and is PSG's top scorer in this season's Champions League with six.

Paris St-Germain hold a sizeable advantage over Barcelona heading into the second-leg of their last-16 tie.

Now where have we heard that one before?

After PSG's brilliant win at the Nou Camp, it's hard not to be reminded of the previous European tie involving these sides, when Barcelona made Champions League history by overturning a 4-0 deficit with a 6-1 second-leg win in 2017.

PSG appeared to put their Champions League hoodoo to bed - to an extent - as they reached the final for the very first time in last season's competition.

Surely, four years on, they won't let this one go the same way...

All eyes on Lionel Messi tonight.

His long-time rival Cristiano Ronaldo was unable to inspire his side Juventus through to the quarter-finals, will Messi have a bigger impact for Barcelona tonight?

  8. 'It only takes one game for confidence to change'published at 18:53 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2021

Liverpool v RB Leipzig (20:00 GMT)

    Sander Westerveld
Former Liverpool goalkeeper on Radio 5 Live

You can't really put your finger on why Liverpool are struggling in the Premier League but no matter what you say people will say it is excuses.

They coped ok without Virgil Van Dijk initially but then the dynamic fell away, and the forwards stopped scoring.

It only takes one game in football though for the confidence to change.

  10. Fightback on the cards?published at 18:48 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2021

    PSG v Barcelona (20:00 GMT) 4-1 agg

While the Liverpool game could be fairly routine, the other Champions League tie tonight is certainly tantalising.

PSG host Barcelona having won the first leg 4-1 but, as we saw last night, away goals could prove crucial as the Spanish side look to continue their impressive recent form.

They won their last four games on the bounce, scoring at least two goals in each game and conceding none.

PSG may have a strong lead but that tie feels far from over.

  11. Champions League respite?published at 18:45 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2021

Having said that, Liverpool will probably be happy for just a dull, routine outing tonight.

The Reds are not having the best of times in the Premier League so will be looking to the Champions League to provide some cheer.

They take on RB Leipzig in the second leg of their round of 16 tie holding a 2-0 lead from the first leg. Surely that one is all cut and dried...?

Well last night's Champions League was a bit fun, wasn't it?

Let's hope Wednesday night's offering can also deliver...
