  1. City's good record against Gladbachpublished at 19:24 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March 2021

Man City v Borussia Monchengladbach (20:00 GMT, 2-0 first leg)

Manchester City are unbeaten in their five games against Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League (won four, drawn one), scoring at least two goals in each of their four victories.

Borussia's previous trip to City ended in their joint-heaviest defeat away from home in the Champions League (4-0).

Gladbach have never won away to English opponents in the European Cup/Champions League, while they have conceded eight goals in the last two trips - 4-2 in 2015-16 and 4-0 in 2016-17, both against Manchester City.

  2. 'City's system working incredibly well'published at 19:20 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March 2021

It can be confusing for sides to play against a false number nine, as centre-backs usually know who their man is.

On this occasion, it could be any number of players in the Manchester City line-up: Phil Foden, Keven de Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan, who take that position - or all of them, at various different times.

It's a hard system to play against and City have an incredibly fluid system at the moment that has worked incredibly well for them.

  3. 'It would be a sensation if we won'published at 19:17 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March 2021

Man City v Borussia Monchengladbach (20:00 GMT, 2-0 first leg)

Borussia Monchengladbach boss Marco Rose: "It would be more than extraordinary, it would be a sensation.

"Pep has them playing almost Total Football.

"We don't want to give the impression that this is a friendly. It's a Champions League game where we have a chance of reaching the next round, but we have to be realistic.

"If I had said that I have full confidence that we can go there and turn it around, then everyone would have shaken their head and said Rose has lost his marbles."

  4. Real want to figure out why Hazard keeps getting injuredpublished at 19:14 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March 2021

Real Madrid v Atalanta (20:00 GMT, 1-0 first leg)

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane says he "can't explain" Eden Hazard's latest injury setback.

Hazard, 30, is injured again after a 15-minute cameo on Saturday which was his return from a muscle problem.

"Something's up, because he was never injured in his entire career [before joining Real] or there were very few injuries. We want to help him and hope he's back as soon as possible," said Zidane.

"They're things that I can't explain. I want to be positive and hope that it's not too much of a problem.

"We're going to try and figure out why it's happening but right now we can't explain it."

Real Madrid make three changes from the first leg. Sergio Ramos and Karim Benzema were injured for the trip to Italy but start tonight.

Federico Valverde takes the place of the suspended Casemiro, whose booking in the first leg took him over the yellow card threshold.

Eden Hazard is again out injured - he managed 15 minutes on his comeback against Elche at the weekend but has since picked up another niggle.

Real Madrid XI: Courtois, Nacho, Ramos, Varane, Mendy, Valverde, Kroos, Modric, Lucas Vazquez, Benzema, Vinicius Junior.

Subs: Lunin, Altube, Eder Militao, Asensio, Marcelo, Isco, Hugo Duro, Rodrygo.

Visitors Atalanta also make three changes from the first leg, one enforced as Ruslan Malinovskyi replaces Remo Freuler, who is suspended after his early red card in the initial encounter three weeks ago.

There's a slight surprise as goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollina is replaced by Marco Sportiello, while Mario Palasic comes in for Duvan Zapata.

Josip Ilicic, who scored all four goals in Atalanta's memorable 4-3 win at Valencia at this stage of the competition last season, has to make do with a place on the bench.

Atalanta XI: Sportiello, Toloi, Romero, Djimsiti, Maehle, De Roon, Pessina, Gosens, Malinovskyi, Palasic, Muriel.

Subs: Rossi, Gollini, Palomino, Lammers, Caldara, Ruggeri, Ghislandi, Aleksei Miranchuk, Ilicic, Zapata.

There is also another big Champions League game on tonight.

Real Madrid host Atalanta after winning 1-0 in the first leg in Italy through Ferland Mendy's strike.

Atalanta played 73 minutes with 10 men after Remo Freuler's red card and had only two shots to Real's 19 so are slightly fortunate to still be in with a big chance.

  8. 'Home' and 'away' legspublished at 19:00 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March 2021

Man City v Borussia Monchengladbach (20:00 GMT, 2-0 first leg)

We are in the remarkable (and ridiculous) situation of two legs of a game both being held at the same ground because of coronavirus travel restrictions.

City won 2-0 in their 'away' game at the Puskas Arena in Budapest three weeks ago.

Today City are the 'home' team in the exact same place.

If Gladbach won 3-1 today they'd go through on away goals...

Raheem Sterling is back in City's squad after being rested for their Premier League win over Fulham at the weekend.

Sterling tweeted to deny the decision to leave him out led to a disagreement with Guardiola.

"He doesn't need to do it," Guardiola said. "Nothing happened. He was not selected, that's all.

"When you have 20 top-class players, it will always be unfair for some of them. I love them, they are the main reason why we are in the position.

"Raheem has been so important for the team and all of us."

And then he has left Sterling on the bench... 👀

Today they try to hold onto their 2-0 lead in the Champions League last 16 against Borussia Monchengladbach.

  13. Can Man City win everything?published at 18:36 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March 2021

Four titles is a utopia. It never happened before and I think it is never going to happen. If you ask me if I agree with Zinchenko, I say no, completely not.

So who is right? Can Manchester City win the quadruple? The latest leg of that challenge starts today.
