The ref didn't waste any time getting that yellow card out. Havertz goes up and leads with his arm, catching Savic and sending him down with a yelp. Havertz had his eyes on the ball throughout but definitely caught the man.

I think that's a penalty - my first instinct was penalty. Cesar Azpilicueta has played it back to Edouard Mendy and there wasn't enough on it and I think he has put an arm around Yannick Carrasco - was it enough for him to go down in the manner that he has, probably not, no but Azpilicueta has got away with one there I think.

Leon Goretzka goes to ground as the ball is floated in from the corner. He's pushed over by Francesco Acerbi and it's a penalty.

Hearts in Chelsea mouths for a moment as Carrasco goes down in the box following a little tug back from Azpilicueta following his weak back-pass. He's fouled him there, right on the edge of the box. However, the referee waves play on and there is no VAR check.

It wasn't exactly a rugby tackle and the Atletico man made the most of it, but you see those get punished.

Kurt Zouma's done really well in this 20 minute period and kept Luis Suarez quiet - but you can never take your eye off him because he looks disinterested and looks like he's not going to run and then all of a sudden he has this burst and you think 'wow'.

So Zouma has to concentrate the whole time, he has a big task on his hands this evening. Suarez is not one of the top goal scorers in La Liga for no reason.

Now Zouma gets in to clear the ball ahead of Suarez in the Chelsea half.

The contest between Luis Suarez and Antonio Rudiger is a fascinating one. The former grabbed the latter's leg on the sly during the first game, causing them to square up. The defender comes out on top in their first meeting here, standing tall to force the forward to give away a goal-kick as he sought to get in down the right.

Reece James has been heavily involved in this opening 20 minutes. He latches on to a loose ball and opts to shoot but gets it all wrong and fires well over the bar.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic tries to cut it back inside from the right for Lazio but Joshua Kimmich is there to mop up.

Ziyech and Werner get in each others' way in the box before the German is able to turn and fire a shot that deflects wide off an Atletico player. The ref doesn't spot it, though, and awards a goal-kick.

First sight of Joao Felix is a good one as he weaves into the Chelsea box. N'Golo Kante senses the danger, though, as he so often does and nips in to tackle and prevent a shot coming in.

Llorente has a bit of shocker, trying to prevent a throw-in and conceding a corner instead.

Rudiger goes in to try and meet Ziyech's delivery but an away defender gets his head in there first to clear.

A decent chance for Lazio.
