Good defending by Trent Alexander-Arnold. Just as it looks as if Rodrygo is going to get away from him into the box, TAA recovers to stop him.

No wonder Sgt Pep and his City band are buzzing... they're on the brink of their first Champions League semi-final together.

Dortmund need three goals in the final 12 minutes to deny them a gig with Paris St-Germain.

Luke: Cracking hit from Foden. How much have City wasted when they actually do have talent from their youth sides. Shocking goal to concede from Dortmund but City don't care.

Josh Earl: Bellingham & Foden both playing a major role in the CL QF, very exciting from an England perspective

Twelve minutes to go. Liverpool have failed to score with 13 shots so far. They need two goals.

'Get up' the referee tells Trent Alexander-Arnold as he goes down on the edge of the box under pressure from Nacho. That's nacho penalty.

That is a very good strike! The keeper should not be beaten on the near post, great strike, great goal for Foden and that is the cushion City needed.

City came out as a different side, and Foden was the catalyst as per usual.

Liverpool 0-0 Real Madrid (agg 1-3)

Real put just four men into the box for an attacking corner. Liverpool try to break but there is Casemiro to stop Mohamed Salah.

Real Madrid waste a good counter as Karim Benzema makes the wrong pass and eventually Rodrygo runs into Trent Alexander-Arnold.

  9. goal

GOAL - Borussia Dortmund 1-2 Manchester City (agg 2-4)published at 21:32 British Summer Time 14 April 2021

    Phil Foden

One foot in the last four...

What a turnaround from Manchester City! The corner is played short between Riyad Mahrez and Bernardo Silva, who pulls the ball back to Phil Foden.

The England midfielder blasts towards the near post and it has too much pace for the Dortmund keeper.

Foden races off to the bench and exchanges a warm embrace with Pep Guardiola before the rest of the City lads pile on top.

Borussia Dortmund 1-1 Manchester City (agg 2-3)

What a goal this would have been! One of the great Champions League goal, perhaps.

Kevin de Bruyne slaloms through the Dortmund defence, ball on a string, before going for the bottom corner. Keeper Marwin Hitz palms out for a corner...

At least after this Dortmund game, people will stop talking about stupid amounts of money for Haaland. Over the two legs I think he has demonstrated he definitely isn't a £150m striker. A good player in a weaker league.

    Richard, Manchester

Matt R: Perhaps famous last words, but if Real do get through, there's no way they are lifting the trophy. They are really pretty average

  13. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:29 British Summer Time 14 April 2021

Borussia Dortmund 1-1 Manchester City (agg 2-3)

Just before that chance for Hummels, Dortmund made their first substitution of the evening.

Off goes teenager Ansgar Knauff, who has had a quiet evening after an impressive week.

On comes Giovanni Reyna. Recognise that surname? Yep, it is the son of former Manchester City midfielder Claudio...

ANOTHER chance. Diogo Jota controls the ball with a fantastic first touch and blasts into the side-etting. It must have taken a deflection because it's a corner.

From the corner there's a foul so it's a free to Real.

Is it going to be one of those nights? A high Trent Alexander-Arnold cross somehow reaches Roberto Firmino, who spins and shoots straight at Eder Militao.

Borussia Dortmund 1-1 Manchester City (agg 2-3)

Dortmund haven't had many clear sights in the second half - this was one.

A free-kick is whipped in to the City box and Mats Hummels steals a yard. But the Dortmund centre-half can't keep his flying header down.

  17. Postpublished at 21:27 British Summer Time 14 April 2021

Liverpool 0-0 Real Madrid (agg 1-3)

Surely this is the chance... No, Mohamed Salah takes too long. The ball suddenly lands for the Liverpool forward but he takes too many touches to get the ball onto his left foot and then out of his foot and his shot is blocked. From the corner Nat Phillips heads wide.

Phew! Breathe! While there is a slight lull, let us remind you of the state of play.

AS IT STANDS Manchester City are going through thanks to their 2-1 first-leg win.

if Dortmund score one more than it will be extra-time.

  19. Postpublished at 21:25 British Summer Time 14 April 2021

Liverpool 0-0 Real Madrid (agg 1-3)

Alisson keeps Liverpool in the tie. Federico Valverde plays a wonderful (or lucky) 70-yard ball from right-back into the path of Vinicius Jr. He runs into the box but the Reds keeper is off his line to deny him. Karim Benzema has a chance but Alisson pounces too.
