It's noticeably an instant improvement for the swarm in blue. Kai Havertz is involved, finding Mason Mount on the edge of the area and his shot is charged down but Chelsea win it back straight away. They've had possession for an age here.

The three changes that Chelsea have made will bring a spring into this game.

Right will that injection of fresh legs sharpen up a stodgy second half? Before the game Tuchel was saying how close he was to starting with Hakim Ziyech tonight.

Here is Eden Hazard, and he comes on for Vinicius in a straight swap.

In the second half Chelsea haven't managed to get hold of the ball and the two strikers haven't caused enough problems.

These changes might have always been the plan from Thomas Tuchel anyway.

Marcelo gets caught on the wrong side of the ball and has to take out a breaking Christian Pulisic.

Could be stick or twist ime for Zizou as he looks set to bring on Eden Hazard. Does he whip off a defender?

A couple of lads struggling with cramp. That first 35 minutes or so was intense. And both managers are set to make changes.

It is a cagey second half, both sides have really good shapes. This game could be won or lost from the bench.

I can see Eden Hazard and Marco Asensio going through extreme warm-ups and they could come on and change the game.

Chelsea will be happiest at the moment though.

I'm with you on all three there. Eden Hazard is out warming up, the rain has eased off a touch I think.

I don't know if this will be a factor but interestingly tonight is the first time that Thomas Tuchel has picked an unchanged side since he took charge. They may have to freshen up as we go on.

The game is being played a lot slower than in the opening exchanges, that is for sure. And that will benefit Real.

I would really like to see Eden Hazard tonight, but I don't know if Zinedine Zidane will bring him on. I know it hasn't really worked out for him yet at Real Madrid but I think it will when he gets over these injuries.
