Is it just me or is Rashford having an absolute mare out there? Loses the ball every time he gets it.
Steve, Edinburgh
Love Rashford but can somebody please tell him the game has started.

Ooooh, a lucky moment for Villarreal. Mason Greenwood burns a defender for pace and smashes in a cross which Raul Albiol blocks with his mid-region and the ball lands into the hands of the keeper. It could easily have gone in.
Villarreal 1-0 Man Utd
The problem is the odd time Villarreal get the ball they don't have anybody up the pitch.
Two minutes added on.
Villarreal 1-0 Man Utd
Amazing tracking by Edinson Cavani as he runs back into his own penalty area to help stop a Villarreal counter.

Former Celtic manager on BBC Radio 5 Live
Villarreal are a good side, but I still think they are beatable if Man Utd take care of the ball and the final bit I still think they'll score.
I think their response since the goal has been good, but they haven't been working the goalkeeper. They've got to start creating more.
Villarreal 1-0 Man Utd
Villarreal are sitting in well now. Very organised at the back.
Villarreal 1-0 Man Utd
Good defending by Alfonso Pedraza, who slides in on Bruno Fernandes and wins a goal-kick because the ball hit the United captain on the way out.

I have rarely seen Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as angry as he was just then, yelling Luke Shaw to get foward.
Shaw responded with a decent run to the byeline.
He was unable to find a team-mate with his cut-back but it is encouraging.
United have not been sharp enough. Too passive in possesion and their passing has lacked crispness.
Villarreal 1-0 Man Utd
Edinson Cavani holds off Pau Torres but then his cut-back is cut out by Dani Parejo. Villarreal are defending well.
Villarreal 1-0 Man Utd
Gerard Moreno - who is going to the Euros with Spain - now has 82 goals for Villarreal, moving level with Giuseppe Rossi as the club's all-time leading scorer.

Manchester United just look a little bit disjointed for me, they don't seem to be working in pairs. Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes don't seem to be working together. It is very much I'll do my bit, then pass it to you, you do your bit. I want to see more pairings and working together.
Villarreal 1-0 Man Utd
Villarreal keeper Geronimo Rulli catches a Luke Shaw cross - and then goes to ground. There's no rush now for the Spanish side.
Villarreal 1-0 Man Utd
Aaron Wan-Bissaka puts a cross in which Raul Albiol heads away.
Then Scott McTominay surges into the box and shoots high and wide from a tight angle.

That was Villarreal's 100th goal this season

Stuart: Lindelof needs to go this summer. At fault for far too many defensive lapses.
C Li: Villareal looked more likely to score. It was coming. #MUFC needs to move the ball quicker. They lack creativity so far against this defence. Whereas Man Utd defence looks suspect
Villarreal 1-0 Man Utd
Luke Shaw fouls Etienne Capoue now down on the left wing. United look rattled.

If any evidence was needed to back the argument Lindelof never has been, and never will be good enough for United, there it is.
Mark, Manchester.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, whose last final was in the 2013 Norwegian Cup, shouts instructions at his players from the sideline. He isn't happy.

I can't say the absence of Harry Maguire has made a difference because Manchester United have conceded goals like that with their captain in the team this season.
United just don't deal with those straightforward balls into the box and get their positioning wrong.
That was poor.
