'10,000 fans will make a really good atmosphere'published at 18:13 British Summer Time 26 May 2021
Villarreal v Man Utd (20:00 BST)
BBC Radio 5 Live
Mairead McMahon is one of 2,000 Manchester United fans in Gdansk, and earlier today she spoke to BBC Radio 5 Live about what it is like to be there and what she is expecting from the game...
"It is really exciting. I am currently in Gdansk Old Town, the city centre basically. I think there are more Villarreal fans than Manchester United fans, but the atmosphere is good. The vibe is good and there is no trouble and problems.
"I was quite lucky - I am working in Poland at the moment. Initially I applied through the Uefa ballot and was unsuccessful, but I know a lot of people from the UK, especially Manchester, who were unable to take their tickets. I got my ticket at the very last minute. Generally speaking though, people who have travelled here from the UK have had a big problem because of the UK quarantine rules.
"We are used to 75,000 fans, but at the moment with coronavirus, and it has been so long without fans, even the 10,000 that will be there will make a really good atmosphere and I think it will be great for everyone that is here and that has travelled from the UK.
"I'll be more confident once I've seen the team sheet. If Harry Maguire doesn't play I'm not that confident! We're here for a good time though, we are just taking it as it comes, but I am personally pretty confident."
