    Ross Barkley

    Late drama!

John McGinn turns and plays Ross Barkley through the middle and the midfielder has loads of space and he lets fly with a dipping effort from outside the box that beats Kasper Schmeichel and looks to have secured the points for the visitors.

    Leicester 0-0 Aston Villa

Bertrand Traoré gets his head to a John McGinn cross but can't get enough power behind it as he nods into Kasper Schmeichel's hands.

Harvey Barnes has so much promise but you feel he really has to kick on this season if he's going to become the top player we know he can be. He's just not looking potent or consistent enough at the moment. Where's Vardy when you need him?!

That was another one where I thought Jack Grealish had done too much and he probably had but he managed to wriggle his way through two defenders in the box and played a little square ball but Ross Barkley couldn't get a shot away.

Jack Grealish is still trying to make something happen as he wriggles his way into the area before finding Ross Barkley but the midfielder is closed down as he tries to get a shot off.

Phil Halfpenny: With so many clubs struggling with their goalkeepers, Aston Villa have probably made one of the signings of the season in Martinez. An absolute bargain at £20 million (I’ve probably just cursed him).

Richard Browne: Villa clearly missing those giant magnets used in their home goal.

    Leicester 0-0 Aston Villa

Bertrand Traoré's cross deflects behind and Aston Villa have a corner. Traore's delivery is headed away by Timothy Castagne before Matt Targett's low drive from the loose ball is blocked before squirming through to Kasper Schmeichel.

Four minutes to go before we can all go about the rest of our evenings. This hasn't been a classic.

    Leicester 0-0 Aston Villa

Jack Grealish has won five fouls this evening, more than any other player, as well as creating more chances than any player for both sides (3).

    Heavily involved.

Andy Pearsall: Not only do Leicester deserve to lose, they should be deducted points for having a striker wearing the number 13.

Is this why the game is goalless?

    Leicester 0-0 Aston Villa

You've got your wish Nathan because Aston Villa make their first change now as Bertrand Traoré replaces Trezeguet for the closing stages.

It has been that long I've forgotten what a goalless draw feels like, but that's looking the most likely outcome here.

Nathan: Deano needs to make changes now or Villa will concede.

  13. Postpublished at 80 mins

    Leicester 0-0 Aston Villa

A clever free kick almost comes off for Leicester as James Maddison plays it low into the box for Ayoze Perez, who does well to find a bit of space but his shot is blocked.

Islam Slimani cuts the ball back to Harvey Barnes on the edge of the area and Barnes twists and turns before lashing well over.

A third change for Leicester as Hamza Choudhury replaces Nampalys Mendy.

  15. YELLOW CARDpublished at 74 mins

    Leicester 0-0 Aston Villa

Jonny Evans is booked as he catches Ollie Watkins late just as the striker threatened to race through.

Aston Villa's players have a fair bit of discussion over the free kick with three players over it and they attempt a cheeky training ground routine as it is played short to Ross Barkley but his attempt to run through the defence doesn't come off.

It seems like Villa are starting to turn the screw without making any changes. I don't know if it is because Leicester are trying to play more expansive but they are starting to get on top.

  18. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 72 mins

Here's a rare sight. Islam Slimani is on for his first Leicester appearance since January 2018. The striker replaces Kelechi Iheanacho.

The hosts have a free kick after James Maddison is fouled by Douglas Luiz but Maddison's effort is into the wall.

Just too cute from John McGinn. He tries to cut it back precisely rather than rolling it across the box to Ollie Watkins and it is intercepted quite easily.

    Leicester 0-0 Aston Villa

Aston Villa come forward again through Ross Barkley, who picks out Ollie Watkins superbly on the edge of the area and the striker lets fly but his shot has the sting taken out of by Jonny Evans and Kasper Schmeichel saves.

It feels like the intensity has gone up a notch.
