Nice one Emma, top stuff as always.

We're in for the long haul now.

Sundays used to consist of Lovejoy, Heartbeat and London's Burning.

We've got the likes of Wolves v Newcastle and Arsenal v Leicester to deal with now.

    Game's gone, I tell ya.

Wolves v Newcastle (16:30 GMT) is up next.

We'll bring you reaction from St Mary's while building up to that match now. The lovely Shamoon Hafez is here to take over from me so I'm off to finish the enchiladas I made earlier. They're good.

    Enjoy!

Sho: Hassenhuttl needs to be getting more credit. Spent hardly anything and making what is not a great team on paper at all look very good. The improvement is staggering.

Everton have an Italian manager, suddenly they have a very Italian flavour to their game; heavy tackles but go down easy and complain to the officials at every opportunity... coincidence? Maybe not.

A maximum of 6 games in and no unbeaten teams. This is the most up for grabs season ever.

    Southampton 2-0 Everton

Very impressive from Southampton. Everton's unbeaten run comes to an end but they remain top of the table from their opening six games.

  6. 'Everton are lacking attacking options'published at 15:52 Greenwich Mean Time 25 October 2020

    Southampton 2-0 Everton

    Karen Carney
Former England and Chelsea winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

Looking at the Everton bench, I do really like what Carlo Ancelotti is doing but I think they are lacking attacking options. If Dominic Calvert-Lewin got injured they are a bit light up top. Richarlison obviously missing today but if Calvert-Lewin got injured as well then I really don't see where the goals would come from.

I feel for Calvert-Lewin because I don't think there's anything more he could do. A few times he's run back and thought right well I'll do something and then he's put in a cross but you just think well he should be on the end of that cross. The service hasn't been there for him. Everton have just not been good enough.

Shane Long is waiting to come on, presumably for Danny Ings, but he might not get on in time.

    The five minutes are up.

Oriol Romeu's shot is straight down the middle but Jordan Pickford spills it slightly. He recovers well though, before substitute Daniel N'Lundulu can get there.

That would have been a nice gift!

  9. YELLOW CARDpublished at 90+2 mins

    Southampton 2-0 Everton

Dominic Calvert-Lewin tries to block the clearance from Jannik Vestergaard and he's caught him on the follow through.

Another card, of the lighter colour.

  10. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 89 mins

    Southampton 2-0 Everton

Daniel N'Lundulu is on for Che Adams.

Yerry Mina plays it back to Jordan Pickford. He looks set to ping it with his left foot but decides otherwise.

Danny Ings come sprinting in, Pickford panics and ends up hoofing it away for a throw-in...

    Southampton 2-0 Everton

Not the best from Danny Ings...

He gets the ball off James Ward-Prowse on the edge of the box and sees a gap. He tries to curl it towards the top right corner but it's well wide.

Almost out for a throw-in near the corner flag!

  13. 'Southampton are a good, progressive side'published at 15:42 Greenwich Mean Time 25 October 2020

    Southampton 2-0 Everton

    Karen Carney
Former England and Chelsea winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

Southampton could aim for European qualification - it might be a bit too much for them but they are a good, progressive side. They're keen, the way they've recruited and the personnel they've brought in have really fit into the team.

  14. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 85 mins

    Southampton 2-0 Everton

Young Frenchman Ibrahima Diallo is on for his home debut. He replaces Stuart Armstrong.

For me this just shows how the international break can really halt a team's momentum. Villa and Everton started so well, and yet...

I'm surely not the only one who now thinks Everton have discipline issues?

An "accident"? Dear me. Did you watch it? Late, reckless and a red card all day. Determined to bring his man down, and he got what he deserved.

Stuart Armstrong plays a lovely ball into Nathan Redmond. It's dealt with by Fabian Delph.

Oriol Romeu then almost picks out James Ward-Prowse, sneaking in behind, with a lovely chipped pass.

Jordan Pickford is smart to it.

    Southampton 2-0 Everton

Everton are just going to have to work hard in these final 10 minutes. Southampton are well in control - understandably - and are looking for a third.

Anthony Gordon mops up on the right but there's no outlet for him as he brings it out towards the halfway line.

FI BinBagJez: Might be accidental, but still dangerous. Look where it caught him. Everton trying to wipe out another player for the season?

Andy: Well there is your VAR ‘evening it out’, that is never a red! Accidentally stands on his ankle. Pickford’s is not a red and that is!? Reinforcing their incompetence

I'm sorry, but that is a total accident. If you make a challenge fair enough, but you can't have red cards for people accidentally standing on someone's foot while running
