  1. 'Three mistakes from Burnley have cost them'published at 16:35 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2020

    Burnley 0-3 Chelsea

    Karen Carney
Former England and Chelsea winger on Final Score

Chelsea’s weakness was the defence but they seem to have sorted that out. I still think the scoreline doesn’t reflect how well Burnley have done.

That goal they scored now was a mistake from Burnley. Clinical finishing from Chelsea and a great finish from Werner, but three mistakes from Burnley have cost them today.

Here is a rare sight - Olivier Giroud playing football. He comes on for Tammy Abraham.

  3. Chelsea 'great to watch'published at 16:33 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2020

    Burnley 0-3 Chelsea

    Tim Cahill
Former Everton midfielder on Final Score

These goals from Chelsea have showed how they’ve fixed things. There’s going to be loads of opportunities for them. They’ve sorted out the back line and the goalkeeper.

It’s going to take time, but it’s great to watch.

Best football we've played all season no question. A ways to go, but Frank's vision is coming together.

    PG in Bournemouth

I feel like we say this in the early stages of every season, but is this year finally Burnley's year.... to go down (and good riddance)?

  6. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 74 mins

A superb full Chelsea debut for Hakim Ziyech ends as he is replaced by Callum Hudson-Odoi.

  7. Phillips makes league debut for Liverpoolpublished at 16:30 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2020
    Breaking

Liverpool v West Ham (17:30 GMT)

Nathaniel Phillips, 23, makes his Premier League debut for Liverpool alongside Joe Gomez at the centre of defence in the absence of Fabinho and Virgil van Dijk, who are both injured.

Nineteen-year-old Rhys Williams, who came on for Fabinho in midweek, is on the bench while there is no Thiago Alcantara in the 18.

Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane all return.

One change for West Ham - Sebastien Haller makes his first league start in the absence of injured forward Michail Antonio.

    Full team news to follow.

  8. goal

    Timo Werner

    No way back now.

Burnley conspire to end their chances as a ball out wide is cut out by Reece James, leaving them on the back foot. James finds Ziyech and he threads a pass through for Timo Werner to slot in his side's third.

  9. Chelsea 'just have to see the game out'published at 16:26 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2020

    Burnley 0-2 Chelsea

    Tim Cahill
Former Everton midfielder on Final Score

It’s not the type of goal Burnley concede.

Chelsea sometimes overplay and keep playing out from the back, but Mendy’s kicking it long from goal-kicks. Chelsea have rode the storm a bit and got the goal that they needed.

Now they’ve just got to see the game out.

  10. Postpublished at 68 mins

    Burnley 0-2 Chelsea

Remember that Burnley have only scored three goals in total so far this league season. It is a big ask for them to now get a couple in a little over 20 minutes.

In fact, they look utterly demoralised by that second Blues goal.

  11. 'Sean Dyche will be livid'published at 16:25 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2020

    Burnley 0-2 Chelsea

    Karen Carney
Former England and Chelsea winger on Football Focus

Zouma’s been solid. Next to Thiago he looks more comfortable and confident, but it’s really poor from Burnley. It was a really good attacking header from Zouma, but he was left unmarked.

Sean Dyche will be livid because they were back in the game, but Chelsea have tightened up at the back and put in a solid performance.

  12. 'Pope had absolutely no chance'published at 16:23 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2020

    Burnley 0-2 Chelsea

    Leon Osman
Former Everton midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

A terrific ball in by Mason Mount, it had all the whip and dip that you require to cause problems to the defending side. Kurt Zouma reacted so quickly. It was a bullet header, it's going at real pace when it hits the back of the goal. Nick Pope had absolutely no chance.

  13. goal

GOAL - Burnley 0-2 Chelseapublished at 63 mins

    Kurt Zouma

And this could very well be game over.

Kurt Zouma finds space in the box and rises well to meet a Mason Mount corner and hammer a header into the net.

It is a long way back for the Clarets now.

  14. 'Burnley starting to get to grips with this game'published at 16:20 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2020

    Burnley 0-1 Chelsea

    Leon Osman
Former Everton midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

Credit to Burnley, they are starting to get to grips with this game. They're starting to put Chelsea further and further into their own territory. They just need to start creating some chances.

  15. Postpublished at 62 mins

    Burnley 0-1 Chelsea

Burnley are breaking up Chelsea's flow a lot better now. They are getting tackles in and not allowing the visitors the time they were afforded in the first half.

  17. Postpublished at 59 mins

Burnley with another effort. A free-kick into the box isn't properly cleared and Tarkowski is set up for a shot that he fails to keep on target.

  18. Postpublished at 58 mins

    Burnley 0-1 Chelsea

Burnley are digging in and competing. While it remains 1-0, there is still plenty in this for them. Ashley Barnes underlines that with a long-range effort that drifts just past the post, with Mendy diving.

  19. 'Ziyech and Havertz have a real understanding'published at 16:12 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2020

    Burnley 0-1 Chelsea

    Leon Osman
Former Everton midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

Hakim Ziyech and Kai Havertz are linking up so well, they seem to have a real understanding, a real quality in possession. They don't like to give the ball away - they like to pass and move and find pockets of space, and at the moment Burnley don't have an answer to it.

  20. Postpublished at 54 mins

Burnley struggling to get out now. They have Rodriguez, Barnes and McNeil behind Wood but it is not sticking up top.
