    Burnley 0-1 Chelsea

This would have been a lovely Chelsea goal. They work the ball down the right, around a number of Burnley players and then along the edge of the box before teeing up Mason Mount for a shot that is straight at Pope.

    Burnley 0-1 Chelsea

Mason Mount strikes the free-kick but it lacks the pace and power to trouble Pope, who gathers.

Werner is caught by Kevin Long about 30 yards from Burnley's goal. It is a foul and a booking for the Clarets defender.

A bit of Burnley pressure to start the second half, but no shot of any threat at the end of it.

Sean Dyche has seen enough to know he needs a change. Forward Jay Rodriguez is on and Dale Stephens is the man taken off. Attacking move.

    Burnley 0-1 Chelsea

Burnley have only won one of their last 30 league games when behind at half-time (D3 L26), a 2-1 win over Leicester in January last season.

  8. 'I can see a Burnley challenge coming'published at 16:00 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2020

    Tim Cahill
Former Everton midfielder on Final Score

Burnley finished the half quite strongly. Sean Dyche will have shown his players games like Chelsea’s draw with Southampton before the game.

They’ve been holding a low block and been hard to break down. I can see a bit of a Burnley challenge coming if Chelsea don’t close this game off.

  9. 'I worry that Chelsea don't kill off games'published at 15:58 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2020

    HT: Burnley 0-1 Chelsea

    Karen Carney
Former England and Chelsea winger on Final Score

It was literally going to be a tap-in for Timo Werner at the back post. Kevin Long’s block has kept Burnley in the game.

They haven’t been out of it, they’ve had chances as well. I just worry that Chelsea don’t kill off games and let teams back in.

Jared Maobe: Pace. Pace is the only reason Chelsea don't kill teams off quickly. They have chances but they're always so slow in the build-up.

Ben: Ziyech and Mount look excellent today.

  11. 'It can't become a game of basketball'published at 15:55 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2020

    Sheffield United 0-1 Man City

    Sheffield United

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder, speaking to BT Sport: "If people think we can go toe to toe with Man City they’re deluded, really deluded.

"We have to find a way to catch up with these teams who have spent about a billion pounds on their structure and their players. It’s frustrating because I think we’ve got a lot more quality in those areas.

"I’m realistic. It can’t become a game of basketball. If people think we’re going to have 55-60 percent possession, we can’t do it. We have to be realistic in our approach.

"Their best chances came on the counter-attack. The brilliant individual ability that Sterling showed for the goal, we need to think whether we can deal with that a little better at the moment.

"We’ve played Man City three times now. That’s probably the best opportunity we’ve had of breaking them down, but we couldn’t sustain it because we kept giving the ball away."

On Sheffield United's start to the season: "There's always pressure in the Premier League and it’s a pressure we can all embrace. The shape of the team is good and the attitude is good, but we have to show a bit more in terms of quality on the ball."

  12. 'We've got a nasty side to us'published at 15:53 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2020

FT: Sheffield United 0-1 Manchester City

    Sheffield United

Sheffield United defender Max Lowe: "We gave them a litte too much respect in the first half. We dropped off too much for the goal. We need to be better.

"Man to man we defended really well. They've got quality all over the pitch but for the majority of the game we kept them quiet. But when we get into those areas we need to make more of our chances.

"We're all honest lads and we'll work hard... We've got a nasty side to us as well and we showed that at times but we need to do that from the first minute, and I feel like we didn't do that today. Everyone knows it's a tough spell for us. I believe personally in my ability and the team's as well. We'll get that first result and we'll get going."

  14. 'Chelsea dominated'published at 15:51 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2020

    HT: Burnley 0-1 Chelsea

    Leon Osman
Former Everton midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

Burnley tried to change the system to get back into the game but for the majority, Chelsea dominated and were comfortable. Their full-backs were high, wide and they were causing a huge threat. If they'd gone in 2-0 or more, I don't think you could have complained - but Burnley have been stubborn.

  15. HALF-TIMEpublished at 45+1 mins

    Burnley 0-1 Chelsea

And that is your lot for the first half. Chelsea the better side but Burnley still very much in it.

  16. Postpublished at 45+1 mins

    Burnley 0-1 Chelsea

Oh, this is a vital touch from Kevin Long. A cross from the right looks to be destined for Timo Werner to finish at the back post but the Burnley defender sticks out his boot and prods the ball into the striker. It ends up harmlessly deflecting into the arms of Nick Pope.

  17. 'Barnes has come wide just to get the ball'published at 15:45 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2020

    Burnley 0-1 Chelsea

    Leon Osman
Former Everton midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

Burnley have made a slight change just to get the ball, Ashley Barnes has come all the way out to this right-hand side, sort of a 4-2-3-1 with Chris Wood as a lone striker. It's very rare to see Burnley make such tactical changes. It just shows you how much of the ball Chelsea have had and how dangerous they've been. Burnley have struggled to get out.

  18. Postpublished at 43 mins

    Burnley 0-1 Chelsea

Burnley are making a little late play in this half to gain parity. Charlie Taylor charges down the left and sees his cross deflected for a corner.

It is taken short and swung in but cleared by Thiago Silva.

Burnley come again, though, and Chelsea are relieved when Silva is fouled by James Tarkowski.

  19. Postpublished at 41 mins

    Burnley 0-1 Chelsea

Burnley cover a huge amount of the field in a sweeping move forward, but they can't find the telling ball at the end of it. The final cross from the left is cut out easily. A real waste.
