He really does have to score, Ashley Barnes! It was a terrific ball over the top from Josh Brownhill. He just needed to pass it in to the goal but he got right underneath it under pressure from Edouard Mendy.

Ashley Barnes collects an angled pass between the two Chelsea centre-backs and moves beyond them, giving him just Edouard Mendy to beat. But he lacks the deft finish, instead chipping it heavily and over the bar.

He takes a bit of clattering from the keeper after the ball has long gone.

Timo Werner is playing on the left side of the Chelsea attack, having stepped in for the injured Christian Pulisic, with Abraham in the central role.

Early glimpse of attacking intent from Tammy Abraham, who gets in behind the Burnley defence to collect a lofted ball forward. But he moved a fraction early and is flagged offside.

I watched the game against Krasnodar and there were times where Chelsea were still being exploited. Frank is still trying to find that balance.

You have to give Burnley a chance. They're at home and Sean Dyche feels that his team are getting back to their best. They're up against a Chelsea team who have struggled to keep clean sheets under Frank Lampard. I think Burnley will expect to score, but can they keep Chelsea out?

Manchester City

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola speaking to BT Sport: "We played really well. We struggled to score goals from the chances we created. 16 shots, eight on target, so it's a lot against this team. They play incredibly well down the sides, the patience they have, but they had one clear chance and no more than that.

"It's our third game in seven days, all away, it's so demanding. People have responded to that well."

On match winner Kyle Walker: "Of course for the goal, I'm happy for that, but not just for the goal - he understands everything much better, what he has to do and the spaces he needs to be in defensively. He's played almost all the minutes. He's a Sheffield United fan, he loves this club, but it was important the goal he scored."

On Aymeric Laporte and Ruben Dias: "Both are playing really well. We struggled a lot last year not having two centre-backs who gave us that consistency. We had to rotate a lot, but we need everyone, it's impossible to play both every game."

I expect there to be a lot of changes in midfield and up top this season [for Chelsea]. It will be hard for them to find a rhythm and find themselves. Kai Havertz doesn't seem to have found his spot where he's playing, he looks a bit lost. That might be a bit disruptive if they keep switching things around.

Sean Dyche has spoken about controlling the controllables.

If the club get taken over, all he can do is focus on the players he’s got and try to move them forward.

He can’t move the club forward unless they bring in the signings that he wants.

Burnley

Burnley are the subject of a £200m takeover bid from Egyptian businessman Mohamed El Kashashy and lawyer Chris Farnell.

It had been thought American sports investment firm ALK Capital were in pole position to buy the Clarets, however BBC Sport understands that Farnell and El Kashashy are in talks with major shareholders at the club.

It comes after lawyer Farnell recently had a ban from owning a club in England overturned by the Football League, initially handed out after issues arose during an attempt to buy Charlton earlier this year.

Burnley chairman Mike Garlick's refusal to loosen the purse strings has led to a strained relationship with manager Sean Dyche, who has repeatedly called for his squad to be strengthened.
