Their squad was boosted further by Raphinha, a £17m deadline-day signing from Rennes, and the winger could make his debut at Elland Road against Wolves on Monday.

"It's difficult to say three days from the game because many things can happen, but if it was today he would be in the group," Bielsa said.

"His adaptation has been very quick, instant. For this, I thank Victor Orta for a player who can adapt very easily to our style of play."

It is likely to be a loan deal for Gunn, who cost Saints £13.5m when he joined them from Manchester City in 2018.

However, the England Under-21 keeper lost his place after the crushing 9-0 home defeat by Leicester just under 12 months ago and only featured in FA Cup ties since.

Sheffield United v Fulham (Sunday 12:00 BST)

    Fulham

Fulham manager Scott Parker has backed Ruben Loftus-Cheek to succeed this season at Craven Cottage, hailing his "huge potential" following his loan move from Chelsea.

The 24-year-old had been struggling to find consistent playing time at Stamford Bridge after the coronavirus pandemic disrupted his return from an Achilles tendon injury.

"He's settled in really well," the Fulham boss said.

"As a player and as a boy he's been first class. We've now had a good 10 days with him and he's worked hard and we've brought him here because we feel like he can help us, help the team and I'm sure he'll have a big season with us this year.

"He's got huge potential but he now needs to be consistent with that and take that step and I feel we can offer him something here and we can help develop him as well of course and give him a platform where if he does the right thing and shows his quality.

"We can give him Premier League football and we also feel like we can nurture him and develop him and help him get to where he needs to get to."

Tottenham v West Ham (Sun, 16:30 BST)

West Ham boss David Moyes has confirmed he is fighting fit and ready to get back on the touchline.

Moyes self-isolated and worked from home as West Ham secured impressive wins over Wolves and Leicester, but the 57-year-old will be back at Tottenham on Sunday.

"I'm all good," he said. "I have to say thanks for all the support form the people around me.

"Like everybody else, I followed all the guidelines. In fact I stayed at home a little longer because I didn't want to be a spreader and bring it in, but I had a brilliant team looking after the football side.

"They did a great job, I am really pleased."

  6. Nuno thinks international football 'should stop' during pandemicpublished at 16:21 British Summer Time 16 October 2020

Leeds v Wolves (Mon, 20:00 BST)

    Wolves

Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo is hoping his Portuguese players have returned from international duty coronavirus free.

Goalkeeper Rui Patricio, full-back Nelson Semedo, midfielders Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho and forward Daniel Podence have all been away with Portugal, for whom Cristiano Ronaldo this week tested positive for Covid-19.

The Portuguese Football Federation said in a statement on Tuesday that Ronaldo was "doing well, without symptoms, and in isolation" and added that no further positive tests had been reported in the squad.

"We've been tested. We have a new system of testing now that allows us not to make any mistakes when coming back from international games. Let's wait to find out the results, but for now everybody is healthy," said Nuno.

"It will probably be Sunday morning that we have the final results, so you can see how it affects the decisions and how you prepare for a game. You prepare and put things in place and work on things but if a (positive) result comes back then you have to take the player out.

"If you ask me what we should do in the middle of a global pandemic, my answer would be for sure to stop. I don't think the schedule for international teams was well prepared."

  8. Bielsa 'totally satisfied' with transfer businesspublished at 16:12 British Summer Time 16 October 2020

Leeds United v Wolves (Monday, 20:00 BST)

    Leeds United

Marcelo Bielsa has declared himself "totally satisfied" with Leeds' business during the summer transfer window.

Leeds have made four major new signings - Rodrigo, Robin Koch, Diego Llorente and Raphinha - and Bielsa confirmed there will be no further arrivals before Friday's domestic transfer deadline.

Loan spells for Helda Costa and Illan Meslier were also turned into permanent deals and five more players were added to the Under-23s squad, taking Leeds' total spending to around £100million since they won promotion.

"I'm totally satisfied," Bielsa said. "I'm very grateful for the work that (director of football) Victor Orta has done and also the group that helps him.

"I also value the contribution of the club, the president has been able to incorporate the players that we needed.

"Up until now Koch has been a continued presence in our team. Rodrigo is slowly increasing the minutes he contributes. Llorente and Raphinha have yet to play.

"In a league as long and demanding as the Premier League everyone will get the chance to show their qualities and contribute. This is also for the young players who arrived in the academy."

  11. One hour to go on EFL Transfer Deadline Day...published at 16:01 British Summer Time 16 October 2020

We're getting into deal sheet time!

There's still a few big transfers in the offing with Said Benrahama, Jack Butland, Joe Rodon all having their future up in the air at the moment.

  12. Andersen out for "foreseeable future"published at 16:00 British Summer Time 16 October 2020

Sheffield United v Fulham (Sunday, 12:00 BST)

    Fulham

It's fair to say that Fulham's return to the Premier League has been rocky.

They've lost all four games and conceded 11 goals in the process, with vice-chairman Tony Khan apologising to the fans and promising better.

They were busy on Transfer Deadline Day bringing in three players, but one of them, Joachim Andersen is set to face a period on the sidelines.

The Danish centre-back joined Fulham from Lyon on a season-long loan on transfer deadline day but will now have to wait a little longer to make his debut.

Fulham boss Scott Parker said: "We've had some pretty bad news with Anderson obviously just coming to the football club, he's damaged his ankle in training over the last couple of days so he will be out for the foreseeable future really.

"I wouldn't want to put a timescale on it but it's going to be some weeks.

"We're disappointed of course because we had him for two days, we see his quality but we're going to be without him for a little time and hopefully we'll get him right, get him rehabbed and get him back to being part of the team."

  13. Butland an option for Palacepublished at 15:52 British Summer Time 16 October 2020

Crystal Palace v Brighton (Sunday, 14:00 BST)

    Crystal Palace

We brought you the news earlier that Crystal Palace are looking to sign Stoke goalkeeper Jack Butland before the EFL transfer deadline at 17:00 BST.

Roy Hodgson is in the market for a keeper after Wayne Hennessey picked up an thigh/map injury on international duty with Wales, and Hodgson, who gave Butland his England debut in 2012, says the 27-year-old has been discussed as a replacement.

"Obviously we are aware of the problems we would have if it turns out Wayne's injury is a serious one which is going to keep him out for a longer period of time," Hodgson said ahead of Sunday's Premier League match against Brighton.

"That would leave us very light on the goalkeeper front and certainly I know Jack's name is one name which has been mentioned, but he has not been the only name mentioned.

"This is a job for our sporting director Doug Freedman, who is working hard to see what options are available and will then present them to me sometime this afternoon if he has been able to find an option."

  14. Moyes still hopeful of Benrahma dealpublished at 15:45 British Summer Time 16 October 2020

Tottenham v West Ham (Sun, 16:30 BST)

    West Ham United

West Ham boss David Moyes remains hopeful of signing Said Benrahma despite a last-minute hitch.

Moyes denied reports that the Brentford forward had failed a medical, but the move, believed to be worth around £18m, has yet to be finalised.

Benrahma is hot property after scoring 17 goals for the Bees last season as they narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League.

"It's not correct, he hasn't failed his medical and we are still hopeful that something can be done by later today - but I just can't guarantee that at this moment in time," said Moyes.

"Part of his medical is still ongoing. Talking about medicals is private, it is something that has to be done so I am not going to discuss that.

"All I will say is that we have still got hope that we can get it done today."

Moyes and West Ham have also been linked with Bournemouth front man Joshua King so may have a late scramble on their hands.

  15. Spurs still hoping to sign Rodon from Swanseapublished at 15:41 British Summer Time 16 October 2020

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport

Tottenham are still working on a deal to sign Swansea defender Joe Rodon ahead of the 17:00BST transfer deadline.

Spurs have been interested in the Wales international for some time, although there was a massive difference between the valuations of the two clubs.

However, the deal is still alive and there is hope from all sides that negotiations will be concluded successfully.

Swansea have identified Wolves defender Ryan Bennett as a replacement, with a medical for the player – who spent last season on loan at Leicester – arranged if the Rodon move is agreed.

  16. Elliott set to join Blackburnpublished at 15:38 British Summer Time 16 October 2020

    Mandeep Sanghera
    BBC Sport

Liverpool forward Harvey Elliott has agreed to join Blackburn Rovers on a season long loan and it is hoped the deal will go through before 5pm.

Blackburn put forward a strong case to take the 17-year-old, with Liverpool taking into consideration that they had been knocked out of the League Cup and Elliott’s first-team chances would be limited.

The fact Blackburn is only an hour away by car played a part as the Reds coaching staff can remain in close contact with Elliott and track his progress.

  17. The latest done dealspublished at 15:35 British Summer Time 16 October 2020

  18. Mina and Digne fit for Merseyside derbypublished at 15:30 British Summer Time 16 October 2020

Everton v Liverpool (Saturday, 12:30 BST)

    Everton

Everton left-back Lucas Digne was substituted even minutes from time in France's 2-1 victory over Croatia on Wednesday night, while Yerry Mina sat out Colombia’s 2-2 draw with Chile on Tuesday as a precaution after feeling discomfort in his thigh - but both are in contention to face Liverpool.

They are not the only boosts for Carlo Ancelotti with right-back Seamus Coleman and midfielders Allan and Andre Gomes fit after knocks and injuries that meant they missed Everton's last Premier League game against Brighton and international matches.

"I’m going to decide what the line-up will be knowing I have a lot of players who are fit and want to play," said Ancelotti. "This is good and we can think about substitutions during the game.

"Every team had players involved during the international break but the important thing for us is our players came back without problems and in good condition. Maybe they are a little bit tired which could be a consideration to choose the line-up and also to see what happens during the game."

    Everton

One of the key features of the 2020/21 Premier League campaign has been goals.

The bad news for us fans? Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti thinks the goal boom will prove short-lived.

The 10 top-flight fixtures a fortnight ago yielded 41 goals, two weeks after this season’s second round of games delivered a Premier League record 44 goals.

“In general, there has been a lot of goals scored because all the teams want to attack," said Ancelotti.

"Also, the fact also there is no crowd means you are less worried about defending.

“I think it will change and teams will be more focused defensively."
