    Pablo Zableta has announced his retirement from professional football.

    The former Manchester City right-back, who won two Premier Leagues, an FA Cup and two League Cups with the Blues, has been without a club since being released by West Ham at the end of last season.

    The Argentine says he has created "unique and unforgettable" memories.

    Sheffield Wednesday have signed Derby County forward Jack Marriott and Cardiff City defender Aden Flint on loan for the rest of the season.

    Marriott, 26, has scored once in six appearances for the Rams this term.

    He scored Derby's goal in their 2-1 Championship play-off final loss to Aston Villa in May 2019, having netted twice in the 4-2 semi-final second-leg win at Leeds United.

    Centre-back Flint, 31, has not played for Cardiff since before lockdown.

    Centre-half Caglar Soyuncu picked up an abductor strain while with Turkey in the international break and is still being assessed.

    "We think that he is definitely out for a number of weeks, but until we get the final scans, that will determine the length of time," Rodgers added.

    Blackburn are keen on signing Liverpool winger Harvey Elliott on loan. The Reds are willing to let the 17-year-old move to the Championship side and a decision is set to come down to the player.

    Elliott's one appearance for Jurgen Klopp's side this season came in the 7-2 EFL Cup win at Lincoln.

    Reds forward Ben Woodburn, 21, is set for a loan move to League One side Blackpool, who are managed by former Liverpool Under-23s boss Neil Critchley.

    "He settled really well and the way his team is playing right now is perfect for the quality they have. He was able to get Arsenal back to the position they were a long time ago.

    "Everyone came back [from the international break] a little bit better than the previous time because then Cancelo, Bernardo [Silva] and others were injured and couldn’t play at the beginning of the season.

    "There are injuries to some muscles where you can take a risk, but there are others where you cannot. He [Jesus] has an injury in the part of his leg where if he injured it more he could be out for a long, long time."
