Brighton are dominating - they've got a grip of the midfield, they're using their spare midfield player during this period better than they have in any other part of the game and Burnley need to get on top of that. When you get into games in the Premier League the one thing you always concern yourself about is not getting outnumbered in the midfield you don't want the opposition to dominate the play.

Southampton make two injury-enforced changes to the side that started their 4-3 win at Aston Villa.

Forward Danny Ings is out with a knee injury and Ryan Bertrand has a hamstring problem, which means Moussa Djenepo and Jack Stephens both start.

Newcastle manager Steve Bruce sticks with the side that defeated Everton 2-1 in their last Premier League outing on Sunday.

Fingers crossed Jay Rodriguez can liven it up a bit because Burnley need to liven things up a bit. They can't just sit there for the next half an hour and let crosses come into the box and hopefully get away with it.

Moussa Djenepo and Jack Stephens are in for Southampton, replacing the injured Danny Ings and Ryan Bertrand.

Gross overlaps on the left and lifts it into the back post for Tariq Lamptey. Charlie Taylor makes a crucial last-ditch block.

On comes Jay Rodriguez for Burnley. He replaces Ashley Barnes.

It's given away by Burnley in the middle and Brighton can counter. Neal Maupay has options to his right but he chooses to cut inside.

He hits it well but it's deflected behind by James Tarkowski.

It wouldn't surprise me if both teams make some substitutions now to liven it up a bit because it has gone a little bit flat. Burnley aren't working hard enough to stop these balls going into the box.

Since the start of 2019, Burnley lost just one of their nine Premier League away matches following a 0-0 score after 45 minutes (W3-D5-L1).

That was a 1-0 defeat at Everton on Boxing Day.

Pascal Gross has a shot in the box but again, it's blocked by Ben Mee.

Robbie Brady is then in space as he carries the ball through the middle. He plays it into the feet of Ashley Barnes, who tries to turn with it but goes down claiming contact.
