    Sheffield United 0-0 West Ham

    Clearest chance yet.

West Ham work the ball down the left and put in a cross that Sebastien Haller nods down for Tomas Soucek, who is in acres of space and has just Ramsdale to beat but somehow volleys wide.

    Sheffield United 0-0 West Ham

West Ham's first real attempt on goal draws a good save from Aaron Ramsdale. A neat turn from Masuaku sees the Hammers work the ball into the box and Bowen set up Coufal for a low drive that is pushed away.

Ramsdale is yet to keep a clean sheet since returning to the club. That's the way to go about righting such a stat.

There have been signings there but they were not real, regular Premier League players that have been signed by Sheffield United.

Aston Villa, for example, signed some seasoned players - and that's probably why they're doing a bit better.

I believe they feel like it will be a tough season, it's the Premier League, but they want to be in a sound position financially for many, many years.

Second big chance of the game also goes to the home side. Baldock is involved again, charging down the right before teeing up McBurnie for an effort that Fabianski palms up in the air. Fleck cannot follow up to any decent effect.

    Sheffield United 0-0 West Ham

Sheffield United are the only side with a shot after 18 minutes, after Baldock's third-minute attempt.

There have only been three touches in the opposition penalty area for both sides, with two for West Ham.

Yeah, I think we got a bit spoilt with that first game.

    Sheffield United 0-0 West Ham

West Ham win their first corner. Angelo Ogbonna gets his head to it but is too deep in the box and too off-balance to steer an effort with any power. The home side clear.

  8. Postpublished at 14 mins

    Sheffield United 0-0 West Ham

We've not seen much of West Ham in the Blades box yet. Haller nods a long throw on but Bowen is unable to steer the ball goalwards with an ambitious flick.

    Michael Brown
Former Sheff Utd and Spurs midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

Looking at West Ham and their set up, I really like the two in midfield in Rice and Soucek.

It suits them and gives the side a nice balance.

  10. Postpublished at 14:13 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2020

    Sheffield United 0-0 West Ham

The only other time this season that David McGoldrick and Oli McBurnie started up top together for Sheffield United they claimed their only point of the season, against Fulham.

Maybe a good omen for the Blades fans?

That said probably worth pointing out that their goal in that 1-1 draw came via a late Billy Sharp penalty.

    Sheffield United 0-0 West Ham

    Michael Brown
Former Sheff Utd and Spurs midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

Sheffield United are wanting to get forward at every opportunity.

It will delight Chris Wilder to have John Fleck back in the midfield.

It's been a good start to the game, with both sides trying to move the ball around.

  12. Postpublished at 10 mins

    Sheffield United 0-0 West Ham

Been a low-key start here. Baldock's chance the only one of note.

  13. Postpublished at 6 mins

    Sheffield United 0-0 West Ham

It is diluted with a lack of fans in the stadium, but there is a bit of bad blood between these sides. You may remember the whole Carlos Tevez affair, when the Argentine striker scored the winner for West Ham against Manchester United at Old Trafford on the last day of the 2006-07 Premier League season to save the Hammers as Sheffield United went down.

Prompted a pretty big row about third-party ownership and the like.

You can read about it here if you want.

  14. Postpublished at 2 mins

    Sheffield United 0-0 West Ham

First big chance of the game comes from a long ball forward that catches the West Ham defence out. George Baldock is in and draws a good save from Fabianski with his boot.

Too easy that from a Hammers point of view.

But Everton are coming unstuck in the communication between the midfielders and defenders.

    Danny Murphy

    Thoroughly enjoyable.

I was pleased to see a fightback from Fulham in the second half.

If there's any consolation it's that they had a good go at it for their manager.

Sheffield United v West Ham (14:00 GMT)

    Mark Lawrenson
    Ex-Liverpool defender

It's surprising to see Sheffield United struggling so badly. The worrying thing for them last time out was not that they lost to Chelsea, but that they had such a soft centre.

That is unusual for Chris Wilder's team so the alarm bells will be ringing. I am backing them to turn the corner this weekend, though.

    Prediction: 2-0
