Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp speaking to Match of the Day: "We scored three goals and didn't concede one, we defended exceptionally well, controlled the game, there were a lot of good things, I can't pick one that pleased me most - maybe the performance of James Milner at right back. He played an exceptional game, first there and then in midfield.

"That is what we expect from ourselves, injuries were a massive shock in that moment but the boys have to offer solutions. We have centre halves, they are really young. They are not experienced, you saw the bench tonight.

"It's a tricky situation and when Naby (Keita) goes off with a muscle injury you know the problems will not get smaller. The boys know when they are allowed to train with us they have the quality to do so, we don't give tickets for training, you have to qualify with talent and aptitude. It is a tough school, there a lot of steps to go.

"We have to make sure we recover but the Naby injury didn't help at all."

Liverpool

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp to Sky Sports: "We deserved it. The boys played an incredible game against a top, top, top opponent. I don’t take things like this for granted. The boys were on fire football-wise.

"The front line defended really well. We should have scored more goals.

"I like the overall performance - the result and clean sheet. We defended incredibly well.

"The front line didn’t play too often together but how they did today was not bad."

Leicester City

Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers speaking to Match of the Day: "We, first half in particular, were too passive and defending the space, but didn't have enough contact, gave away poor goals. We had a good opportunity on the counter with Harvey Barnes, but overall when you are passive like that your football is not quite the same, we weren't aggressive enough.

"Second half was a little bit better, more aggressive in our press, that allows us to play better football. Liverpool deserved to win. The guys coming back from the international break, not as cohesive as what we have been.

"It's mentality, you have to get up to the ball, we were happy for them to have it in their own half, but as soon as it comes into your organisation we were not as aggressive as I would like.

"Much better second half. Unlike the game last year, when we lost at home, this is a game we can reflect on easily and analyse and move on."

Liverpool

Liverpool's James Milner to Sky Sports: "First half very good, second half not as good. There were a lot of miles in the boys' legs with internationals.

"We kept the ball pretty well and took the sting out of it. Bobby [Firmino] is the unluckiest man alive for the first 80 minutes. He deserved his goal. He was outstanding.

"I want to start as many games as I can - I know that won’t be every game these days.

"It's hard to get that rhythm with all the international breaks but it’s a long wait until the next one.

"It’s impressive we’ve kept it [their unbeaten home run] going without the fans. Hopefully we can keep it going until they can come back."

Liverpool

Liverpool's Diogo Jota speaking to Match of the Day: "Playing in this team, world champions, means a lot, I just wish we can keep winning matches and I can be important as well, of course.

"We did a great job, offensively, creating chances, as well as defensively. In the end it was a great match.

"Every squad feels the same, everyone can be important, we need everyone physically and mentally ready to help us.

"It is three points, but they were there near the top, on Wednesday we go again."

With all the injuries Liverpool had, we were looking at the team and wondering if Jamie Vardy was going to cause massive problems for them.

They have been absolutely excellent tonight, Liverpool.

I would say, given who they were playing, this is their best performance of the season so far.

Since Brendan Rodgers took charge of Leicester, the Foxes have lost all three of their Premier League meetings with Liverpool.

They've conceded nine goals in the process - their most against any opponent in the competition under Rodgers.

Imran Sheikh: An excellent win for LFC tonight. Outstanding performance from everyone despite our injuries to key players. Jota is exceptionally good!

Noel Fitzpatrick: Make no mistake, this was an absolutely fantastic performance! And the clean sheet for Ray Clemence (RIP). Every team will have injuries, that's where a manager earns his corn, so chapeau Jürgen.

Liverpool are now unbeaten in their last 64 home games in the top-flight - the longest such run in the club’s history.

They have won 53 of those games.

Since Jurgen Klopp has arrived, he has completely turned the football club around.

Not that it was in any precarious position, but the standard of the teams he puts out, week in, week out, is outstanding.

All over and Liverpool go level on points with leaders Tottenham after a well-earned win.

Jamie Vardy hooks the ball into the sidenetting from a very tight angle as Leicester chase a consolation.

The Foxes could have gone top with a win but despite a few good moments, they have ultimately been well beaten.

Roberto Firmino has scored two goals in Liverpool's five league games at Anfield this season, after only scoring once in 19 Premier League home games in 2019-20.

With the win in the bag off go Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota for Liverpool and on come Divock Origi and Takumi Minamino for the final couple of minutes.
