  1. 'Frustrating we didn't score'published at 18:57 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2020

    FT: Leeds 0-0 Arsenal

    Leeds United

Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips, speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "We had a lot of the ball and when you look at chances we created we should have come away with the points.

"Personally I think it is a lot harder to play against 10 men because they sit back. It was tougher getting on the ball but we still created chances.

"There is always frustration when you get so many chances. It's not happened for us tonight but we keep on fighting and defending well."

  2. 'We move on to the next one'published at 18:53 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2020

    Leeds 0-0 Arsenal

    Arsenal

Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin, on Sky Sports: "I have to say as a player I have mixed feelings, I am not someone who gets happy with a draw, but taking into consideration the opposition and the fact we had 10 men.

"We looked really solid, obviously they created chances but the team responded really well. We both had chances, we go home with a draw and it is one of those games you need to forget about and move on to the next one, because we have a busy schedule coming up.

"Coming to Elland Road, you know you are going to have a tough game, a team who have been working for a few years with Marcelo Bielsa, tactically very brave and intelligent, when you have to defend in the whole second half it gets tiring in your brain, rather than your body.

"I am happy we didn't conceded and still looked solid."

On whether Pepe apologised for his red card: "These things stay in the changing room. After the game everyone has a lot of adrenaline and these things need to wait until later in the week."

  3. 'No big performances'published at 18:50 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2020

    FT: Leeds 0-0 Arsenal

    Stephen Warnock
Ex-Leeds and Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Arsenal looked like they didn't have any ideas how to get out when Leeds were pressing them. There were no big performances. There has been a lot of scrutiny on Mikel Arteta about the way Arsenal have played of late. It's about finding that fine balance between defending and attacking.

  4. 'It is unacceptable'published at 18:47 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2020

    Leeds 0-0 Arsenal

    Arsenal

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, speaking to BBC Sport: "It is a point. I am never happy with a draw but considering the circumstance it is one we take and move on."

On Nicolas Pepe's red card: "It is unacceptable. Unacceptable. At this level you cannot do it."

On Arsenal's display: "There were two parts in the first where we were superior and dominant and created opportunities. The last 15-20 mins we gave balls away in different positions and gave them space to attack. We were lucky not to go 1-0 down. Second half playing this side with 10 men it is complicated."

On Bukayo Saka's chance: "It was the best chance of the game and we tried to stick to the plan. We conceded chances but were a threat on the break."

On the team's lack of goals: "It is a concern. You need goals to win matches. We need to create opportunities."

  5. 'Pepe let the team down'published at 18:45 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2020

    Leeds 0-0 Arsenal

    Arsenal

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta on Sky Sports: "Considering how early we got Pepe sent off we have to take it. I never like a draw but in the circumstances it's a point. It is unacceptable.

"The first half there were two different periods. The game broke a bit, we started to give the ball away and led to them having the space to break. The second half it was a matter of defending well and staying patient and using the pace of our players in the space they were leaving."

On Bukayo Saka's chance: "It was the best chance in the game, I thought the keeper did well. The reality is they threatened a lot our box and we were lucky on some occasions.

"With 10 men it is a big disadvantage. I really liked the personality of the team when Pepe let the team down, how we stuck to do what we had to do and had a moment or two to win the game, but obviously it makes it really difficult."

  6. 'We missed a lot of chances'published at 18:44 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2020

    Leeds 0-0 Arsenal

    Leeds United

Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa. speaking to Sky Sports: "The result could have been in our favour, the performance was satisfactory, 11 v 11 we played well, with a man advantage we were more dangerous, it was a steady and valuable performance throughout.

"We missed a lot of chances, we arrived in different ways and I think there were three shots that hit the post. The accuracy wasn't the necessary one.

"It is not more difficult, it is easier (to play against 10 men)."

On Raphinha's first Premier League start: "He worked a lot, he had the capacity to associate in his sector. We were able to get in behind down the right, it wasn't necessarily him but he contributed."

  7. 'We tried to create danger in different ways'published at 18:39 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2020

    Leeds 0-0 Arsenal

    Leeds United

Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa to BBC Sport: "We are frustrated as we could have won the game. We tried to create danger in different ways, through the wings, long distance and in a smaller sense through balls through the middle. In these three ways we were able to create danger but not able to convert."

On the display of Raphinha: "It was a positive performance but not enough to shine. He contributed to help the offence performance of the team."

On Kalvin Phillips: "In the first half he was very important as he had to defend. In the second he distributed well and acted as the equilibrium as the team with less defensive work."

  8. 'We created enough to win it'published at 18:36 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2020

    Leeds 0-0 Arsenal

    Leeds United

Leeds' Stuart Dallas to Sky Sports: "We certainly created enough chances to win it. The red changed the game and gave us a lot of possession. But if you can't win you have to make sure you don't lose it. They are dangerous on the counter and that is something we have worked on.

"I had time to take a touch (for his first-half chance). These things happen quickly. It is that bit of quality you need. The keeper has made some good saves.

"They camped in and got a good shape and made it difficult. But you have to give them credit. They dug in and will be happy with a point.

"In recent performances we have given away too many chances. The keeper did really well for what was one of very few chances for them.

"It is always important you react from disappointing performances. We have done that today."

  9. A rare goalless draw for Leedspublished at 18:32 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2020

    Leeds 0-0 Arsenal

That was only the third 0-0 draw for Leeds under Marcelo Bielsa in his 110th game at club. Goalless games is just something he doesn't do.

  10. 'Red card helped focus Arsenal'published at 18:29 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2020

    Conor McNamara
    BBC Radio 5 live commentator

In a funny way, the red card helped Arsenal here.

When they had 11-men, they felt they had to attack. Suddenly they're down to 10-men and they can sit and absorb.

I think in a funny way it made it easier for Arsenal to say 'it's going against us and all we can do is defend' - and it focused their minds.

Boy did they need to be focused. This Leeds team are fantastic to watch - where do they get their energy from?

Mikel Arteta made the right changes to influence the game.

Leeds just couldn't find the breakthrough. They pushed this Arsenal team as much as they could.

What a great game of football.

Russ Hyde: For the past decade if not more critics have always been on the back of Arsenal’s defence. Arteta’s influence in under a year has been remarkable and he needs to be afforded the time to do what he needs to do with this team. Patience needed!

Arsenal have been like a punch bag here.

They've been absorbing the shots from Leeds - and now they're trying to land a sucker punch at the other end.

Leeds are a bit rattled here and they're petrified they might lose the game.
