Lesley Keech: All this possession is meaningless if Leeds don't score. Wastefulness is a problem for them. And now if they don't score against 10 men it'll be an embarrassing problem.

Kevin Hayes: The £72m Arsenal spent on Pepe doesn't get enough scrutiny, few goals in the Europa league aside he's up there as one of the premier leagues biggest flops

    Leeds 0-0 Arsenal

Nicolas Pepe has been sent off for the first time in his career in the top five European leagues in what was his 146th appearance.

Mikel Arteta will be fuming, for a player to lose his cool so early in the second half is just poor.

  5. 'Pepe has let Arsenal down'published at 17:38 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2020

    Leeds 0-0 Arsenal

    Stephen Warnock
Ex-Leeds and Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

It was an incident off the ball. Pepe just pushes his head towards him and Alioski goes to ground and makes the most of it.

He's let his team-mates and manager down there.

  6. RED CARDpublished at 51 mins

    Leeds 0-0 Arsenal

The referee goes to the pitch side monitor and is satisfied it is a sending off for Nicolas Pepe.

Just silly from the Arsenal man and the Gunners have it all to do now.

Ezgjan Alioski is down on the ground after a clash with Nicolas Pepe. It looks like Pepe moved his head towards Alioski's and VAR is going to have a look at this...

  8. Postpublished at 49 mins

    Leeds 0-0 Arsenal

Not much change from the pattern of play in the first half with Leeds dominating possession and Arsenal looking short of ideas when attacking.

The Gunners do have a free kick midway inside the Leeds half but it is easily dealt with by the home defence.

There is no way on this earth, that Arteta will be Arsenal manager come the end of the season...shocking is an understatement.

Another game, another pathetic performance from Arsenal. We should have progressed a lot more by now under a decent manager. Arsenal are too big to be a first-time practice for Arteta.

    Gus, Frome

Not sure Arsenal have really improved over these past few months and without Abameyang firing they now don't look like scoring either - Impressed by Leeds though

    Leeds 0-0 Arsenal

    Stephen Warnock
Ex-Leeds and Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Will Leeds kick themselves in the second half for not taking their opportunities? Mikel Arteta has a big half-time team-talk.

You wonder if Arsenal have watched the Crystal Palace game and decided they will just counter Leeds - but Leeds have learned from that.

Kalvin Phillips in particular has been outstanding.

  15. Shot-shy Arsenalpublished at 17:25 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2020

    Leeds 0-0 Arsenal

Arsenal failed to record a shot on target in the first half of a Premier League game for the second time this season - also doing so against Manchester United.

  16. Shots galorepublished at 17:21 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2020

    Leeds 0-0 Arsenal

Leeds attempted 13 shots in the opening 45 minutes; no side has fired in more in the first half of any Premier League game so far this season.

  17. 'Aubameyang starved of chances'published at 17:17 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2020

    Leeds 0-0 Arsenal

    Stephen Warnock
Ex-Leeds and Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Aubameyang will be looking at Leeds and thinking: I wish my team were creating all these opportunities for me. These are the sorts of chances he would thrive on.

When I watch Arsenal and Leeds, the difference is Leeds have runners going beyond.

It's like football snobbery from Arsenal, they want everything short and precise. Sometimes you have to make the unselfish runs - and that's something Arsenal haven;t done in the first half, which has allowed Leeds to get so tight.

Patrick Bamford slips at the end of a promising Leeds counter and that signals the end of a first half the hosts have dominated.

Quick feet from Nicolas Pepe as he weaves his way along the edge of the Leeds box before bending a shot wide of the far post.

A chance, but they are all too rare for Arsenal.

  20. Postpublished at 44 mins

    Leeds 0-0 Arsenal

If the goals were a couple of feet higher, Leeds would be 5-0 up by now as Luke Ayling becomes the latest player to lash one over the bar.

Are they going to regret these missed chances?
