The constant encouragement from Ralph Hasenhuttl now has a real air of agitation. He has seen the game taken away from Southampton here. Manchester United have been excellent in this half.

What a substitution to bring him on!

Absolutely brilliant.

Alex McCarthy punches the ball away and Fred kept it alive in the second phase, Bruno Fernandes smashed it and credit to Edinson Cavani. He takes it enough past the keeper and is clearly on side. That's 2-2 and that's game on.

Straight way United got the ball out of the back of the net as they want to go on and win.

Edinson Cavani is only the second player to both score and assist a goal after coming on as a substitute in an away Premier League for Manchester United, after Ruud van Nistelrooy against Charlton in September 2002.

He now has two Premier League goals to his name from just over 100 minutes.

It was a very good header from Edinson Cavani, it was so, so close. After a great ball in from Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

He got such power on the header and it was just inches wide.

Saints' first substitution sees Shane Long replace Moussa Djenepo.

Chelsea make three changes from their 2-1 win over Rennes on Tuesday.

N'Golo Kante, Hakim Ziyech and Reece James replace Cesar Azpilicueta, Jorginho and Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Inky Fingers: How can you never rate Marcus Rashford? He's got 75 career goals for Man Utd. He scored 17 goals in last year's EPL in 31 games. He was England's youngest ever senior international goalscorer. A few bad games do not make him a bad player. His stats speak volumes.

Edinson Cavani has definitely given United something extra in attack. Aaron Wan-Bissaka chips over a cross that the Uruguayan meets with his head but nods just past the far post.

United are pressing more and getting into Southampton's faces and making it hard for them to find a pass.

Nice idea, but poor execution. Stuart Armstrong tries to play in Theo Walcott with a curling pass behind the United defence, but he over-hits it and Henderson gathers.

Brilliant goal and it's all about Edinson Cavani and his cross is that little bit of quality Man Utd were lacking in the first half half.

Southampton were too spread apart.

When Edinson Cavani plays it to Bruno Fernandes he takes the touch, spins and smashes it low and this time Alex McCarthy has no chance of saving it and United back in the game.

When Fernandes plays well, United play well. The next goal is the vital one.
