Manchester United have finally taken one of their many chances. They have been right on the front foot this half and will be hoping to play on some Southampton nerves.

The United corner is delayed as Jan Bednarek gets some treatment in the box. He is fine to carry on, but isn't on the field for the set-piece. Never mind, as it is an absolute stinker, straight to the first man, who clears.

Tom: I'm sorry to all those who do, but I don't and never have rated Marcus Rashford.

Manchester United attack again and look nailed on to score, but after Van de Beek pokes the ball to Cavani in the box, he swivels and fires over via a deflection.

I love Marcus Rashford but he should have passed the ball to Edinson Cavani there. He's made the wrong decision.

It would have been 2-1.

There is a very good chance that Rashford chance could have been ruled out had it gone in. Looked like he might have been offside from the replays. He didn't know that, though.

Benjamin Lappin: R.e. Kevin @ 15:01. Ole is undoubtedly out of his depth. But suggesting he shouldn't be playing this "porous back four"? Are you really trying to suggest a back four of ?, Jones, Bailly and Shaw would be an improvement?

Peter Maleth: This game is running around Marcus Rashford, in the first half and continuing now. He should have gone off before Greenwood.

Huge chance for Manchester United to get that foothold they so desperately need. Marcus Rashford beats the offside trap and is in on goal. He has Cavani for company but goes himself, only to see his shot saved by McCarthy.

Cavani is absolutely furious with Rashford.

Brilliant start from Southampton, exactly how they left off the first half - energy, pace and numbers moving forward.

The physicality has been the difference, bullying United.

That is why Edinson Cavani has come on, as a more physical presence.

Mentally Southampton have the upper hand over Manchester United.

Southampton have started this half firmly on the front foot. Victor Lindelof has to charge across to prevent Stuart Armstrong getting in after some neat play from the home side down the right.

Kris Jefferson: I hope this game (if Southampton do win) shows that Man Utd's problems aren't rooted in things like Pogba playing or DVB not playing. Their problems are much deeper than that, and I personally think it's more about people at the top (Ole and Woodward)

Henderson is again called on to save from Walcott, this time from outside the box. It's another comfortable one, though.

Well, if Henderson and Cavani wanted to make a statement and secure themselves a place in the Man Utd starting XI, this would be a fine place to start.

David de Gea's afternoon is over. That collision with the post trying to save Ward-Prowse's free-kick means Dean Henderson is out for the second half. It is a Man Utd Premier League debut for the man who excelled at Sheffield United.

It is not the only change, either. Edinson Cavani replaces Mason Greenwood.
