Townsend does really well to get height and dip on that shot. That's something he has done really well over the years - I think he has perfected the technique.

Now Andros Townsend's cross causes Burnley problems but they deal with it.

Andros Townsend doesn't score that many but when he does they're usually good. He hits a sweet curling effort from 25 yards and Nick Pope palms it over the bar.

You can see the confidence in the Burnley players. It's like boys against men so far - it's bizarre.

Palace striker Jordan Ayew latches onto a loose ball on the edge of the box, holds off a defender and then shoots straight at Nick Pope. It was such a tight angle, it would almost have been impossible to beat a good keeper from there.

Steven Wyeth: Burnley looking much more like the team that went 7 unbeaten in June/July. Coincidentally, the Burnley line-up looks much more like that which went 7 unbeaten in June/July.

Vicente Guaita had to be sure there. The Crystal Palace goalkeeper chases out of his box while his defender Cheikhou Kouyate is trying to control it.

It's an accident waiting to happen but luckily they communicate well and Kouyate leaves it for Guaita to hack away.

I'm not surprised so many players are testing positive for covid, even though they are protected. Has it not occurred to anyone that spitting, clearing nasal passages and orally spraying water on the pitch is perhaps not a very good idea?

Joseph Palmer: Burnley fan here, if we win tonight I think it will kick-start our season! It’s usually what happens to us under Dychey!

Steven Waldron: Congratulations to Manchester United moving into the top half of the table thanks to Chris Wood's goal.

United were 10th already which is top half...

Burnley are lucky. It was a great turn from Eberechi Eze on Matthew Lowton, but then instead of James McArthur trying to find Michy Batshuayi, I wanted him to have a shot. Put your foot through it and go for the far post. Why not? Palace do the good things well then let themselves down with the final product.

Inches away for Palace. Eberechi Eze skins Matt Lowton on the wing and cuts inside. He finds James McArthur on the overlap and the Scot's low ball across the six-yard box is just past the lunging Michy Batshuayi.

Scott Dann and Cheikhou Kouyate are focusing all their attention on the battle with Chris Wood and trying to get the better of him, which is leaving Jay Rodriguez with five or 10 yards of space in behind [the Crystal Palace defence]. Burnley are doing really well to exploit that.

Palace get in behind for one of the first times today. Patrick van Aanholt has loads of space on the left-hand side of the box but his low cross is poor and it's cleared.

Burnley are causing plenty of problems in the Palace box. Jay Rodiguez is just offside as he tries to get on the end of James Tarkowski's ball from a free-kick.

There is a lot about the Burnley players to be impressed about today. Every single one of them seems to be on the front foot, rattling after the Crystal Palace players in every area of the pitch. This Burnley team are absolutely up for it and the Crystal Palace players are half a yard off the pace.
