Ten to go. A huge 10 minutes for Burnley. They are so close to a first Premier League win of the season.

Roy Hodgson will be very frustrated with the way Palace have played in the final third.
It's not really been penetrative, they are not really breaking down Burnley or moving the players around. They are quite static.

When you picture Burnley v Crystal Palace on a Monday evening, this is it basically.

The Crystal Palace goalkeeper was off his line and ready for the ball to be played through. He was almost like a sweeper and Chris Wood was unfortunate not to get a touch. Brilliant play from both teams.
Burnley 1-0 Crystal Palace
The Woods link up well and Burnley almost score. Ashley Westwood finds Chris Wood with a cross but Vicente Guaita saves his header.
Burnley 1-0 Crystal Palace
Andros Townsend's poor crossfield pass is cut out by Chris Wood, who instantly sprays the ball 50 yards forward to Jay Rodriguez.
Luckily Vicente Guaita is alert and runs 20 yards out of his box to clear.

Nine goalless games for Burnley and the Republic of Ireland since then.

If Michy Batshuayi had a little bit more confidence about him he would have tried to chip the ball over Nick Pope when he was coming out. Pope committed himself really early, made himself a big figure but was quite low. I used to love it when goalkeepers did that, I used to chip it over them all the time. It made it easy for me, it made my mind up. That's a mark of a player that is lacking in confidence.

Palace should be level. Burnley winger Dwight McNeil plays an unbelievably bad backpass from the centre circle, which Michy Batshuayi latches onto.
Nick Pope does well to get off his line and make himself big to block the shot. He gets up quickly to punch the ball away before Batshuayi can get a second chance.

On 31/10/70, Burnley hosted CPFC, with no wins and 2 points. Burnley won 2-1 that day and then, much later in the season came to Palace without having won away. Guess what happened... who's going to be Ralph Coates tonight?

Burnley 1-0 Crystal Palace
The stats say it's been a pretty close game, not much in it in the way of shots, shots on target or possession. But Burnley deserve their lead.

Initially, I thought to myself 'don't take it so early', but by taking it early he caught the goalkeeper off-guard and Johann Gudmundsson was very unlucky.

Michy Batshuayi is a very frustrating player. You know there is a talented centre-forward there, but it seems as soon as he gets the opportunity to start a couple of games in a row complacency kicks in.
He doesn't seem as he tries as hard as you know he can or is capable of doing.
