Slow mo shouldn't be allowed. Makes things look very different to how they actually were.

Video reviews are slowly killing multiple sports for the spectators. Anyone who said "we just want the right decision to be made" was flat out wrong.

  2. GREAT SAVE!published at 52 mins

West Bromwich Albion 1-1 Crystal Palace

A Palace goal feels in the offing and that's a great save! Patrick van Aanholt finds Christian Benteke on the edge of the area, his hold-up play is superb to set it back to PVA, and he hits a side-foooted curler from a good 25 yards that requires a flying save.

It's rather one-way traffic at the moment. Great feet again from Wilf Zaha as hr beats a man to get into the area and his low shot is deflected away.

West Brom defend the corner really well. That extra man could make all the difference, it looks tiring trying to chase down Palace at the moment.

Christian Benteke bursts into the area on the left-hand side and fires it across goal.

It goes out for a throw-in but I still couldn't tell you if that was a cross or a shot.

  5. YELLOW CARDpublished at 49 mins

West Bromwich Albion 1-1 Crystal Palace

Play on ref! James McArthur fouls Conor Gallagher in the centre circle and the whistle goes but West Brom were on the attack there.

    McArthur is booked.

Palace start the half with an extended spell of pressure but Christian Benteke strays offside to release it.

  7. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 13:05 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2020

A half-time swap for the hosts, Filip Krovinovic is on instead of Grady Diangana.

And we're back up and running.

Roy Hodgson has a good chat with West Brom skipper Kyle Bartley as the sides re-emerge. Discussing the red card, no doubt.

I think I've seen a referee do that once. Was it a goal at Spurs?

People always criticising the referee but comments saying it was/wasn’t a red card show that it’s obviously a difficult job.

Have you ever see a referee go to the screen, watch the super-slow-mo replay, then not give it? VAR is killing the game. Get rid

We've got all floodlights on full at the Hawthorns. A grim afternoon in prospect in the west midlands.

  12. Red card?published at 12:56 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2020

For those of you who have seen the incident, a show of thumbs please.

    UP for red card.

DOWN for not a red card, in your humble opinion.

Only English players (9) have received more PL red cards in 2020 than players representing Brazil (5).

The five red cards for Brazilian players were shown to David Luiz (2), Fernandinho, Richarlison and Pereira (1 each).

Fahad: Same thing happened to Son for kicking at Rudiger and it was a red card then. Need to keep continuity. Definite red card

He clearly kicks out and his initial reaction clearly shows he knows he did, unfortunately it doesn't matter how severe the contact was, he made contact that is enough.

  17. CLOSE!published at 44 mins

West Bromwich Albion 1-1 Crystal Palace

There was half a shout for handball as Cheikhou Kouyate blocked that Karlan Grant shot but nothing came of it.

Palace come straight down the other end and Ebe Eze curls narrowly wide from the edge of the area.

West Bromwich Albion are the first team to score an own goal and receive a red card in the first half of a Premier League game since Tottenham Hotspur vs West Ham in May 2014.

    You asked for it...

Spirited response from the Albion as that man Darnell Furlong wins a corner. He has been everywhere so far.

And that's nearly the lead! Vicente Guiata comes for the ball, misses his punch and Karlan Grant sees his shot deflected over the top.

Jonathan: No need for the red there. Watch it in normal speed, stop slowing VAR down and 'looking' for something to be wrong. Hopefully a competitive match doesn't get ruined by VAR again.

Lee Jacobs: I'm sorry but that is nowhere near a Red card, a yellow at most.

Seth: Referee Paul Tierney is having a shocker here! How was that a red card! How could that even be interpreted as a violent conduct! Ridiculous!

Dave: Ridiculous red card. Hardly violent.
