Yep, as expected that's a very divisive one. On one replay it looked to me like a clear kick, on another I'm not sure he even made contact.

It's put West Brom behind the eight ball anyway. Palace mount a good spell of pressure from a few corners and Gary Cahill sees a thumping shot well blocked.

First Gibbs against Everton earlier in the season, now Pereira. What is it with West Brom and shooting themselves in the foot with brainless red cards?

    Daniel

Palace fan here. Did he kick out or just raise his feet like you would instinctively if someone was falling on you? Absolutely shocked at that decision.

    Nick in Kent

Dont blame VAR for this decision. Its again down to our atrocious officials. Laughable.

Can Crystal Palace take full advantage, that's the question now. They do win a corner with Christian Benteke close to heading in a cross.

May as well send Slaven Bilic off now and save yourself a half-time job Paul.

Every angle looks different. The last one I saw, it didn't look like a kick out at all actually.

    Not that that helps.

  6. RED CARD - Matheus Pereirapublished at 33 mins
    Breaking

West Bromwich Albion 1-1 Crystal Palace

    He's off!

The evidence must have been fairly conclusive. Matheus Pereira had been awarded the free-kick, he was fouled, but as he fell to the ground he lashed out. Was it deliberate?

    Silly boy.

He can't believe it but he'll have to go.

Interesting. Matheus Pereira kicks out at Patrick van Aanholt as they tussle and VAR are having a look at this.

    Possible red card?

RE: Mike from Sheppey [12:04] - please send your patio fruit trees to S Bilic, The Hawthorns, West Bromwich. Then maybe he can replace the back four with them. Thanks.

    Conor Gallagher (30 mins)

What a lunchtime Darnell Furlong has had so far! An own goal, a header against the bar and now an assist.

Semi Ajayi plays a cracking ball down the right to set him away, Gary Cahill blocks his first cross but he's able to reload and find Conor Gallagher about 15 yards out.

He has bodies all around him but keeps calm and carries on, side-footing low into the corner. A deserved leveller.

Decent move once more from Albion as Matt Philliips arrives at the far post to crash in a header - it's straight at Vicente Guaita once again though.

    Another interesting 'wrong number text'...

Hi team. I followed the instructions for your delicious looking Victoria Sponge. And although it tastes ok the cake is a little soggy. Thoughts?

A guy on twitter messaged me yesterday asking me to stop using obscure stats as they mean nothing.

Just for you - Darnell Furlong is the first player representing Montserrat to score an own goal in the Premier League era.

Players from 63 different nationalities have now netted an own goal in this division.

Albion free-kick in a decent spot. Matheus Pereira to whip it in. Right through the area and away.

Another quirk, Palace lead without having a shot on target yet. You wouldn't bet against them winning without having one at all.

West Bromwich Albion 0-1 Crystal Palace

And now it's nearly 1-1! This game is more eventful than you may have feared.

Darnell Furlong almost becoming a pub quiz question with a goal at each end as he rises well to smack a header against the bar. Unlucky!

  17. YELLOW CARDpublished at 16 mins

West Bromwich Albion 0-1 Crystal Palace

There's a lot more cut and thrust to Palace when they do attack. Christian Benteke floats a pass into the run of Wilf Zaha, it's a very difficult one to take on but he does, can only sky a volley behind though.

Romaine Sawyers goes into the book for a bodycheck in midfield.

  18. Stats you don't love to seepublished at 12:16 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2020

West Bromwich Albion 0-1 Crystal Palace

    • Two of Crystal Palace's last three PL goals have been via own goals, only one of previous 37 had been via an own goal
    • WBA are the first side to score more than one OG in the Premier League this season
  19. CLOSE!published at 13 mins

West Bromwich Albion 0-1 Crystal Palace

Good attack from the hosts and a good effort at the end of it. Grady Diangana sets Matt Phillips away down the left and his cross is a good one, picking out Matheus Pereira in the area.

It's not an easy one to hit but he swings and connects well, thumps in a volley but it's right at Vicente Guaita.

Is this the worst bottom four teams in the history of this league? Feels like it.
