It is hard to call, Mikel Arteta is young and learning his trade. He’s learned from Pep, he wants players to take responsibility but they are not. Their body language is not what fans want to see.

One of the biggest problems it seems to me at Arsenal is the culture and the environment.
We heard Mikel Arteta wanted to change the culture and I think it’s shown by the discipline on the pitch by the type of players that they are. They all seem to be doing whatever they want to do.
Those teams that are pulling in the same direction, everybody really in it together, you just don’t see those silly sending offs because they are thinking about the team and their team-mates.
I don’t think Arsenal have that and that’s what Arteta is trying to get. The only way to do, however, is to get out the players who aren’t contributing in a positive way to the culture. You can’t do that in one or two transfer windows.
Hello again everyone.
The chaotic year takes another turn then. Where next for Mikel Arteta?
We've got rolling subs on the live today.
Tom Rostance is back on for Everton v Arsenal, I'll take the action again later on.
Southampton 0-1 Man City
Manchester City
No side have conceded fewer goals (12) or kept more clean sheets (6) than Manchester City in the Premier League this season.
Southampton 0-1 Man City
All over, City take the points courtesy of Raheem Sterling's first-half winner.
Pep Guardiola's side keep their seventh clean sheet in eight games.
Very impressive.
Southampton 0-1 Man City
Here come City...

This is why City are not as potent as they were. They should be two or three ahead. City are not the City we know.
Southampton 0-1 Man City
Super, super, super goalkeeping from Ederson again.
Southampton think they are in then Theo Walcott slips a pass through but the City keeper is so quick off his line to collect and relieve the pressure.

I literally cannot believe it! It was a fantastic counter-attack but a poor pull-back from Silva and Mahrez just smashes it over. All of us are thinking 'what are you doing?!'
Southampton 0-1 Man City
WHY DIDN'T HE SHOOT????
City overplay it, will it cost them?
They break and Raheem Sterling feeds Bernardo Silva in, six yards out in front of goal but he decides to play it across for Riyad Mahrez who side-foots over.
What a waste, Pep Guardiola rubs his shaven head.

Manchester City are in no rush now. It's just about being professional, keep the ball, nice possession, so the little rondos that you do every day in training. Just don't give Southampton the ball and the opportunity.
Southampton 0-1 Man City
Where did they get FIVE minutes from??
Riyad Mahrez blazes a vicious shot over.

The most wondeful tom of the year: City don’t have any leaders on the pitch. No Kompany or Fernandinho driving them. That combined with no Aguero means they’re a bit toothless.
Southampton 0-1 Man City
The ball is deep in the Southampton half, not where they want it.
Have to say, City have managed this game really well.

All City really lack is a true goal scorer, they should be fighting for first with the amount of chances they create.

Low cross into the box from Nathan Tella, Ederson is sharply off his line to gather.
Excellent keeping.
Five minutes left.

Ederson hasn't really had a save to make so far, so for all the good play and intensity from Southampton, they just haven't tested him. They need to mix it up and change it because if you keep doing the same thing, you'll keep getting the same outcome.
