The physio gives it a squeeze and he looks fine to carry on.

Yep, Nathan Ake is putting his bib back on.

Moose and Me: Do Man City have the yips? They appear trigger shy, unable to do the instinctive. Hanging on to the ball too long around the box. To me there are parallels to the golfer that starts hooking the ball or the darts player pulling shots.

I must say, as poor as the decision making has been from Manchester City in the attacking third, I must commend the backline. John Stones has been superb, Ruben Dias has been really, really astute today and Kyle Walker and Joao Cancelo have been consistent as well.

  8. GREAT SAVE!published at 78 mins

    Southampton 0-1 Man City

Brilliant save from Alex McCarthy to keep his side in the game, stretching high to his right to tip over Ilkay Gundogan's drive.

That was heading for the top corner.

Theo Walcott is exuding positivity and he is dragging his team with him. It is so good to see.

Southampton play some really good football.

Southampton very average - this would have been an easy win for City when the team was at its peak

  13. CLOSE!published at 73 mins

    Southampton 0-1 Man City

The closest Southampton have come to levelling.

The hosts break forward and Nathan Tella puts in a brilliant cross from the right, John Stones slides in and almost puts the ball into his own net but in the end it is superb defending as stops Che Adams from converting from a few yards out.

There wasn't enough pace on Kevin de Bruyne's shot to test Alex McCarthy but you know what? With the chances that Manchester City have had - and it's been happening the last two games with them - they could be punished here and Southampton could equally come back and equalise now.

    A change for City.

Riyad Mahrez is on for Ferran Torres with just under 20 minutes remaining.

  17. CLOSE!published at 70 mins

    Southampton 0-1 Man City

City nearly put the game to bed and really should have done.

Kevin de Bruyne is free on the edge of the area but does not get enough whip on his shot and curls straight at Alex McCarthy.

Pep Guardiola gets so anxious on the touchline, he throws his arms up when there are stray passes and then the players see that and they get frustrated.

It's kind of a vicious cycle and that's obviously because they live and breathe every word that Guardiola says and he makes a big impact. I know as a wide player, I would not like playing in front of him, if I'm being brutally honest.

They are still not testing Ederson though, the visitors will be happy with that.

Raheem Sterling doesn’t look himself, he doesn't look confident. Even with the goal, he doesn't look his usual zippy self. Maybe that is just the whole Manchester City frontline, it's just not clicking with the final passes, final ball. It's just not there.
