That yellow card for De Bruyne was laughable. You would've thought an experienced referee like Mike Dean would understand he was in possession and on the turn.

You know what I have noticed about Pep Guardiola? I reckon he is superstitious!

Because...he has changed his coat again. And I bet if they win, he'll win that same coat for the next game.

Josh Earl: I'm absolutely convinced KDB will smash the PL assist record this year. It's clear how much much he wants it, particularly seeing how frustrated he was to only level it and not surpass it last season. He could assist goals in his sleep. Wonderful player.

You know the delivery from James Ward-Prowse is going to be spot on.

Raheem Sterling started the game looking short of confidence. You can always tell when a wide player is low on confidence because you don't dribble the way that you usually do - you just see it, you’re hesitant. When you're wide and on form you don't think, you just go. Hopefully this goal will give him some confidence.

John Stones a shoe-in for England's Euro 2020 squad on his showings so far this season.

The City defender has Danny Ings in attention and does well to make an excellent block from the Southampton striker's thumping shot.

Theo Walcott then tries catching out Ederson from the angle but the City goalkeeper manages to bat it away from danger and then can collect Oriol Romeu's long range drive.

What a goal and you know what? Pep Guardiola has just turned to his goalkeeper Ederson and went 'well done' because it all came from him. Credit to Man City for picking up the second balls - which I think is the plan. Credit to Ederson, he knew that Southampton would press him, so he just smashed it forward.

Very much a City goal – the penalty spot, the pull back – they must work on it. It doesn’t even have to be a good connection.
