  1. 'The referee did not have the quality for a Premier League game'published at 19:44 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2020

    Burnley 2-1 Wolves

    Wolves

Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo tells Sky Sports: "We started the game well, had good spells of football.

"Disappointed, we were aware Burnley were strong (at crosses into the box) and could not hold on and be strong enough

"We were able to break the pressure, go out and have spaces, the ball was moving but then it became more difficult and they made it difficult for combinations. It is a tough, tough place. a good reaction but not a perfect game.

"Burnley drop and defended the box but we were not able to created much. We were passing the ball and staying still that is why it was difficult.

"All the players must keep the confidence, there is a long way to go but it was difficult game. The referee did not have the quality for a Premier League game, this is a problem we know we had Lee Mason before. It is not about the crucial mistake or decisions, it is about how he handles the game. The players get nervous, he whistles from the noises from the players. We are talking about the best competition but he does not have the quality to whistle the game.

"I just don't want to see him more, I told him him I hope he does not whistle a game of ours again. He cannot control the players, the players are constantly arguing. The other referees let the game flow."

Hopefully I'll be proved wrong tonight but how is moving Kante, one of our only in form players, out of his favoured position to accommodate Jorginho going to fix our slump? Strange, strange team from Lampard

It's been a fantastic performance from Burnley. They're work rate across the pitch is something you'd expect.

But they're technical ability and clinical ability in front of goal has been fantastic. Burnley have really impressed me tonight.
