  2. goal

    Ben Mee (32 mins)

    Disaster for Sheffield United!

Aaron Ramsdale does superbly to deny Chris Wood from point-blank range but his heroics are for nothing moments later as Ben Mee thumps home a header from a corner.

Burnley are ahead and bottom-of-the-table Sheffield United have it all to do.

GOAL - West Brom 0-2 Leedspublished at 18:30 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2020

    Ezgjan Alioski (30 mins)

This is a brilliant finish from Ezgjan Alioski but no goal is beating Romaine Sawyers' today.

The cross from the right is intended for Jack Harrison, who has made a run into the box but it hits Patrick Bamford and falls kindly for Alioski.

He runs onto it and smashes it into the right corner. It ripples the netting and rolls around the inside of the goal for an even more aesthetic look!

    Burnley 0-0 Sheff Utd

    Sooo close for Sheffield United!

Rhian Brewster meets a corner and sends a downward header towards goal but Josh Brownhill clears off the line.

VAR has a look for a possible handball but are satisfied there isn't one and play continues.

    West Brom 0-1 Leeds

Ooo. Jack Harrison leaves the defender for dead as he shimmies inside, drives into the box and tries to curl it into the far corner.

He's leaning back and it's comfortably wide but that was a chance.

Luke: Brighton coming out may be their downfall. Arsenal hammered Chelsea because they came out. The tactics of Spurs and Leicester and many others this season of 10 men behind the ball and the hope of a terry toe punt finding their fastest man is the way to beat Arsenal.

CM: Aubameyang shouldn't have started for Arsenal today. The young players are inclined to play through him too often. In his absence at Chelsea, they trusted their instincts, the team was more fluid, and better able to adapt to the game as it changed.

    Brighton 0-0 Arsenal

Absolutely nothing between the two sides so far and nothing of any real note happening either.

Hector Bellerin does get away on the right now though, cuts inside and tees up Emile Smith Rowe. He wants a free-kick for a challenge from Joel Veltman as he tries to get into the box, before Bukayo Saka does get the decision right on the edge.

    Southampton 0-0 West Ham

Still waiting for a shot on or off target for West Ham with 25 minutes gone. Sebastien Haller should be the first to register an attempt but he doesn't connect at all well with a free kick and the ball runs through to Alex McCarthy.

    Burnley 0-0 Sheff Utd

It has been a frustrating first 20 minutes for Sheffield United striker Lys Mousset, who has had just two touches of the ball so far.

It is all feeling very familiar so far with the Blades doing OK in the build up but then lacking that bit of quality in the final third.

Alan Ferguson: Is there an own goal of the season competition? If so, close the book on it. That was something else.

Gary Wells: Arsenal are inept at taking corners, it is so frustrating to watch!

    Brighton 0-0 Arsenal

Bernd Leno is showing off! Some nice silky feet to juggle the ball up and over Alexis Mac Allister after an awkward back pass. It's brilliant in the end but Brighton win it back and Alireza Jahanbakhsh earns a corner.

This hasn't been a game for the purists with both sides tussling for control. Sheffield United are coming into it more and have a corner but the delivery is curled straight into Nick Pope's hands.

Much better! Darnell Furlong whips a teasing ball in from the right and Stuart Dallas has to come across and hoof it out for a corner.

Illan Meslier flaps at the set piece but it's helped on by a Leeds defender on the edge of the box.

Ouch! This looks nasty as Craig Dawson accidentally kicks Che Adams in the head as he tries to meet a free kick into the Southampton box. Such an unfortunate incident with Adams falling into the path of Dawson just as he shaped to shoot but fortunately Adams doesn't seem too hurt by it and is up and OK to continue soon enough.

Rob Elmore: As an Arsenal fan I'm glad Maupay and Welbeck are on the bench. Both class forwards for me.

Andy Ross: Sawyers oggy is just like you'd see on FIFA 97 as keepers were so bad.
