Sheffield United have two points after 15 league matches, equalling the joint-worst start to a season ever made by a club in England's top four leagues.

However, the Blades will hope for more joy against the Clarets having taken four points off them last term, winning at home and drawing at Turf Moor.

Brighton are this season's draw specialists with seven so far, and four of them have come in their past six games.

The Seagulls are playing some nice football, but they don't score enough goals. That's why they are in trouble at the bottom of the table.

Arsenal are only one place above them, in 15th, but I'm expecting their win over Chelsea to be the start of a good run for the Gunners. They should have some belief back now, for starters.

    Prediction: 1-2

I never ever suggest clubs should sack managers halfway through a season especially after previous success, but with 2 points from 15, perhaps Sheffield United really should. They're in Trouble with a capital T.

Sheffield United have confirmed the club recorded a number of positive coronavirus tests after the latest round of testing.

The individuals who have tested positive have now entered into a period of self-isolation in accordance with Premier League and government guidelines.

  6. Highest round of PL positivespublished at 17:17 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2020

The latest round of Premier League coronavirus testing found 18 people had the virus - the highest figure recorded in the league's testing programme.

That figure surpassed the previous highest figure recorded - 16 for 9-15 November - though the percentage of positive cases was lower.

The 18 positives come from 1,479 tests on players and staff between 21 and 27 December, a rate of 1.22%.

The round that produced 16 positives was from 1,207 tests at 1.33%.

Southampton made the announcement three hours and 15 minutes before kick-off.

  8. Bielsa mural brings Leeds joypublished at 17:11 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2020

West Brom v Leeds United (18:00 GMT)

Giant murals depicting sporting heroes in Leeds have brought some much needed joy during the coronavirus pandemic, supporters have said.

Leeds United under Marcelo Bielsa were crowned Championship winners earlier this year, ending the club's 16-year absence from the Premier League.

A mural at Hyde Park Corner paying tribute to Bielsa was one of the first to appear ahead of the new season.

Leeds Rhinos star Rob Burrow has also been honoured with a mural in the city.

  12. No changes for Albion or Leedspublished at 17:02 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2020

West Brom v Leeds United (18:00 GMT)

Squad rotation during a hectic Christmas schedule? Not for Sam Allardyce and Marcelo Bielsa.

New West Brom boss Allardyce names the same XI and bench which earned that gutsy point at Liverpool two days ago.

West Brom XI to face Leeds

And Leeds counterpart Bielsa, a man who never likes to make too many changes, does exactly the same. Therefore, it is the same matchday 20 which earned a 1-0 win over Burnley.

With Albion set to play one up top, that should mean a slight tactical tweak for Leeds with Bielsa reverting to two centre-backs and Kalvin Phillips moving up into a defensive midfield role.

  15. 'We have all been suffering'published at 16:57 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2020

    Brighton v Arsenal (18:00 GMT)

    Arsenal

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says he feels "responsible" for the "suffering" endured by those associated with the club during a torrid run of form.

Arteta's side beat Chelsea on 26 December to secure a first win in the Premier League since early November.

The victory followed their worst start after 14 league games since 1974-75.

"It is draining, it is frustrating and it is painful," said Arteta, whose team sit in 15th place in the Premier League before Tuesday's match at Brighton.

"Obviously results-wise in the last few weeks we have all been suffering, I have been suffering. I feel very responsible for that.

"The worst feeling is because I want to do so well for this football club and at the moment we are in, I want to bring all my passion, the knowledge that I have, the right intentions to move as quickly as we possibly can as a football club.

"In order to do that we need to win football matches, to be stable and win. When I don't, I feel like I am letting the club down and the people that work for us, and obviously our fans."

  16. 'Blades don't seem to hurt teams'published at 16:55 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2020

Burnley v Sheff Utd (18:00 GMT)

    Mark Lawrenson
    BBC football expert

Sheffield United did not lack effort or application in their defeat by Everton but, yet again, that was not enough for them. They don't seem to be able to hurt teams.

Burnley are hardly full of goals either - along with the Blades they are the lowest scorers in the top flight, with eight apiece.

But Sean Dyche has found a way of getting results in recent weeks and they could easily have got something out of their last game, a 1-0 defeat by Leeds, too.

Like Dyche I was bemused by the decision to rule out Burnley's goal in that game. Clarets defender Ben Mee did absolutely nothing wrong.

    Prediction:2-0

  17. In the dog fightpublished at 16:52 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2020

The Blades are desperate for a run of wins and if West Brom pick up a win at home to Leeds, with Sheffield United losing to Burnley, they could fall nine points behind at the bottom of the table. A HUGE gap.

Burnley themselves will want a bit of breathing space, while Brighton are only above them on goal difference as it stands.

Arsenal are in unfamiliar territory too although they could climb as high as 12th place tonight.

The end of 2020 is almost upon us and it has been a year that most of us will be glad to see the back of.

There will also be a few football clubs who won't shed a tear when the clock ticks into 2021 in a couple of days, not least Sheffield United.

The Blades started the year in the top eight but it has largely been downhill since then and today is their last chance to ensure they don't end the year without a win so far in the 2020-21 season.

Will a trip to Burnley provide some late Christmas cheer for Chris Wilder's side?
