Two point-blank saves from Sam Johnstone. Two headers which I think, were actually harder to miss than to score!

Very good tonight from West Brom. OK, it's not the type of game I want to watch but if I'm coming to the Etihad and I'm setting my team up like this and they do it to the letter and they get you a point? You can't moan!

  2. Postpublished at 21:56 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2020

    Man City 1-1 West Brom

The point lifts City from 10th to sixth.

But they're five points behind leaders Tottenham, having played the same number of games.

West Brom remain 19th but are just two points from safety.

I think Raheem Sterling's header was three yards out! And he's in the centre of the goal. It's an amazing cross, diving header, he's got all the goal to aim at and Johnstone has made another amazing save! Great reflexes!

The stats say six saves for Sam Johnstone.

It felt like 26 in the end. Some of those stops at the end were excellent.

What a save that is by Sam Johnstone! Ilkay Gundogan's positioning is amazing but what a save from five yards out!

  7. GREAT SAVE!published at 90+3 mins

    Man City 1-1 West Brom

    WHAT A SAVE!

    Sam Johnstone take a bow.

Raheem Sterling can't do any more, he gets plenty of power behind his header but Johnstone isn't letting anything past him.

    Incredible performance.

  8. CLOSE!published at 90+2 mins

    Man City 1-1 West Brom

City cannot get any closer without scoring.

Ilkay Gundogan whips an excellent free-kick towards the top corner but it travels narrowly wide of the target.

    So. Close.

West Brom fans would hate to see their team play like this but when you come to the Etihad, you have to find a way of not getting hammered. And they have done brilliant tonight.

    What a save!

    Sam Johnstone. Incredible.

Ilkay Gundogan meets a cross and aims a header downwards which Johnstone brilliantly keeps out.

He's having one of those nights the West Brom keeper. Great stuff.

Lemmespeak: Gotta give credit to Bilic for how he has managed this match.

West Brom winner 90+3 all over this!

If it stays this way then there are more points separating the bottom 2 than there are the top 10.

It's been the same scenes on repeat for much of this second half, and indeed the game. City come forward, the final ball isn't there, and West Brom clear.

Pep Guardiola is shouting at the fourth official. He's furious about something.

Pep Guardiola and the West Brom assistant boss had a disagreement over the free-kick Manchester City were just awarded.

Slaven Bilic had to step in as peacemaker.

    It's all getting tense.

    Agueroooo! No!

Sergio Aguero gets his first real sighting of Sam Johnstone's goal but fires a powerful shot off target.

    West Brom are almost there.

Hello: Genuinely think Pep is getting more angry than frustrated at Man City tonight. The lack of creativity and penetration must be worrying for him.

Chris Lord: What is going on with this league this year? Southampton to batter Arsenal tomorrow and go top as Spurs and Liverpool draw 0-0? How have both City and Chelsea failed to win tonight.

Has Pep Guardiola got a monitor on to count his steps?! He's up and down, back and forth. He's so animated on the touchline!

Darnell Furlong lies behind the wall to stop any cheeky low attempt from Kevin de Bruyne.

De Bruyne whips it round the wall instead and Sam Johnstone does a really good job of not just getting to it - but also pushing the ball away to safety.

    Man City 1-1 West Brom

Charlie Austin gives chase to a long ball into the City half and Ederson is able to get a rare few touches to set his side away again.

Ilkay Gundogan is fouled as he injects a bit of pace into things and his side have a free-kick in shooting range here...

C Li: This could indeed be the most open and exciting Premier League in years.

Why start Rodri and Gundogan together against a side who struggle to defend and will sit behind the ball?? Then put Mahrez and Bernardo on the bench who LOVE to try and find the space needed against teams who sit deep
