    Well, well.

What a year that's been in both the Championship and the rest of the EFL.

Certainly one that won't be forgotten in a hurry, if not for the reasons many would wish.

But have no fear, once 2021 begins, we'll also be back with more action.

Sheffield Wednesday against Derby County gets the year started on Friday before a full (or as full as is allowed) programme to come on Saturday.

Until next time - thanks for being with us and a very Happy New Year!

Results: Brentford 2-1 Bournemouth; Swansea 0-0 Reading

Brentford are the big winners after the final action of 2020 in the Championship.

The Bees will head into 2021 second in the table and on a 15 game unbeaten run.

Swansea and Bournemouth dropped points and each drop a place.

    FT: Swansea City 0-0 Reading

So two sides vying for promotion cancel each other out.

We'll show you what that result means to the table in a few moments before we wrap up for the night.

  4. FULL-TIMEpublished at 21:54 Greenwich Mean Time 30 December 2020

    Swansea City 0-0 Reading

All over at The Liberty Stadium.

Championship action for 2020 ends in rather tame style after that belter at Brentford earlier.

Reading will probably be the happier of the two sides with that outcome.

  5. Postpublished at 90+2 mins

    Swansea City 0-0 Reading

Cagey conclusion to this one as a couple of cheap free-kicks are given away by both sides.

Four minutes added on at the end of the 90...

C'mon you two, surprise me with a late winner!

    Swansea City 0-0 Reading

If this was the last day of a county championship cricket match, I think both sides would've shaken hands on a draw about 15 minutes ago.

It's not looked like producing a goal this one sadly since Andre Ayew had that header well saved by Rafael.

  8. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 86 mins

    Swansea City 0-0 Reading

    Another Swansea change.

Jamal Lowe is replaced by Viktor Gyokeres.

  9. Postpublished at 84 mins

    Swansea City 0-0 Reading

Well, this has been a rather flat way to see out 2020 in the Championship if it stays this way.

But, once again Tom McIntyre almost pops up with a goal for Reading.

He meets a corner at the near post with his head and Freddie Woodman gets fingers on it to tip it over the crossbar.

    Swansea City 0-0 Reading

Wildly speculative effort from Reading full-back Tom McIntyre.

But, who can blame him? His side haven't had that many chances to have a go on goal this half.

Not to be on this occasion though as it sails well over the crossbar.

    Swansea City 0-0 Reading

    Last 10 minutes.

After a flurry of chances not long ago, Swansea have gone a bit flat in the past few minutes.

  12. Postpublished at 77 mins

    Swansea City 0-0 Reading

Getting a bit frantic now for Swansea as they see the clock tick down.

Reading might well fancy a chance still of pinching a goal against the run of play.

  13. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 73 mins

    Swansea City 0-0 Reading

A third change for Reading as Omar Richards replaces Ovie Ejaria.

Swansea meanwhile bring on Kasey Palmer for Korey Smith in their midfield.

  14. GREAT SAVE!published at 71 mins

    Swansea City 0-0 Reading

And once more, Swansea so nearly find the breakthrough!

Rafael with another fine reaction save for Reading.

Andre Ayew looked destined to head in the opener as Connor Roberts stand-up cross found him on the penalty spot and despite the power and direction, Rafael claws it clear with a dive to his right.

    This game needs a goal....

There I said it. But it does really as we move into the last 20 minutes.

Swansea have had more than enough chances to find one. Will it come back to bite them come full-time?

  16. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 66 mins

    Swansea City 0-0 Reading

Second change for Reading sees midfielder John Swift into the action.

He's returning from a long-term hamstring injury for his second appearance off the bench in the past week.

Sam Baldock is the man to make way.

  17. Postpublished at 63 mins

    Swansea City 0-0 Reading

Swansea force a sixth corner of the evening while Reading are still searching for their first.

But yet again somehow the Royals get it clear under pressure.

    Swansea City 0-0 Reading

    Reading under the cosh here.

Connor Roberts swings in a dangerous cross from the right that Tom Holmes has to head behind for a corner before Jay Fulton arrives to nod it goalwards.

Steve Cooper's side just can't find the breakthrough.

  19. Postpublished at 59 mins

    Swansea City 0-0 Reading

Swansea getting closer here to an opener.

Jake Bidwell with a back post header as Andre Ayew's teasing cross picks him out.

But Bidwell seems to time his jump too early and can't get enough power on it to force it home.

  20. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 58 mins

    Swansea City 0-0 Reading

    First change for Reading.

Sone Aluko replaces Alfa Semedo for the visitors as Michael Olise somehow escapes a booking for the most blatant of blatant fouls on Connor Roberts as he pushed him over after the ball had already gone out for a throw-in.
