  1. Big day in Scotland...published at 12:24 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2021

    Rangers v Celtic (12:30 GMT)

Rangers' home record in the league is hugely impressive, with 10 wins from 10.

Goals for 32, goals against one. Yes, just one... Motherwell are the only domestic rival to score at Ibrox this season.

A massive Old Firm game is about to get under way north of the border and you can follow it here.

It looks like a lovely afternoon in north London now as the sun beams down onto the surface. Should be a good one.

    Leeds United

Leeds have won their first league game in just one of the last seven calendar years (D4 L2), beating Rotherham 3-0 in 2017.

    Tottenham v Leeds (12:30 GMT)

This will be Spurs boss José Mourinho’s first ever meeting with Leeds in all competitions. He’s won all four meetings with Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa by an aggregate score of 15-2, doing so in La Liga with Real Madrid against Athletic Bilbao in the 2011-12 and 2012-13 campaigns.

David Barton: I can see this being a very interesting game and a clash of tactics, Mourinho's approach of all men behind the ball and hitting on the counter vs Bielsa's balls to the wall approach of outscoring the opponent.

Kyle: Leeds games are always brilliant to watch because unlike my team Newcastle they at least have a go and try and win games. It should be another brilliant game today. I think Spurs will edge it 3-2. If Leeds win they could be looking towards Europe though

  6. Another one gonepublished at 12:13 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2021

Burnley's match with Fulham - scheduled for tomorrow - is OFF.

Will Spurs sit back? If they hit Leeds on the turnover like Manchester United did this could be anything.

Hope I'm wrong but Spurs' team selection is so negative. You can't sit back against teams like Leeds. Jose not learning any lessons with negative mindset!

Never mind the Prem, COVID-19 is causing Fantasy Managers an absolute headache. Had to ditch the cheap buys in favour of a squad of regular starters for rotation. Not even getting paid for it!! #Rotation

Will we see fans back in stadiums by the end of this year?

Optimism was in short supply in a tempestuous and testing 2020. But with the annus horribilis now over, we are all hoping 2021 will provide more positivity.

Football has offered a little bit of escapism for millions of us this year - and promises to give more uplifting moments away from the pandemic in the next 12 months.

Here are five things we hope we can look forward to...

Both teams are out warming up in full winter gear as the sun pokes though in Tottenham. Snoods everywhere and quite right too.

  12. 'We can't leave ourselves open'published at 11:58 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2021

    Tottenham v Leeds (12:30 GMT)

    Leeds United

Leeds United midfielder Stuart Dallas: "It’s always important that we try and build on a previous result. We scored five goals at West Brom but that means nothing today. We are confident coming here but it is important we are not overconfident.

"We have to get to the stage where we are a consistent team. We haven’t managed to do that this season. This is a difficult place to come but we are confident and believe we can get something from it.

"They have world-class players. In previous weeks we have been hurt on the counter quite a lot so it is important that we finish our attacks off as best we can and we don’t leave ourselves open."

This is such an intriguing match because of the difference in the way both teams play, and how both managers see the game.

Leeds completely dismantled West Brom earlier this week, and their game plan will be 'up and at 'em' here too.

That is exactly how Tottenham like opposing teams to be, though. I just feel it will play into Jose Mourinho's hands a little bit, as his side look to get back to winning ways.

It won't be dull. It never is with Leeds - they have you on the edge of your seat, whichever end the ball is at.

    Prediction: 2-0

  15. Spurs criticise party-goerspublished at 11:47 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2021

    Tottenham v Leeds (12:30 GMT)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham have criticised three of their players for attending a party over the Christmas period.

A picture circulating on social media shows Erik Lamela, Sergio Reguilon and Giovani lo Celso together at a party along with West Ham's Manuel Lanzini.

A spokesperson for Tottenham said: "We are extremely disappointed and strongly condemn this image showing some of our players with family and friends together at Christmas particularly as we know the sacrifices everybody around the country made to stay safe over the festive period.

"The rules are clear, there are no exceptions, and we regularly remind all our players and staff about the latest protocols and their responsibilities to adhere and set an example. The matter will be dealt with internally."

  16. Postpublished at 11:45 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2021

    Tottenham v Leeds (12:30 GMT)

    Leeds United

Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa: "There are a lot of differences between this game and the one at West Brom.

"To defend well we have to avoid being countered and we have to manage to get the ball cleanly into the opposition half.

"The past and his history and my history shows the difference in levels between us. It is clear that Jose Mourinho's achievements are very high and the games that we have played in the past - what happened is what you said [the interviewer pointed out that Bielsa is yet to beat Mourinho]."

"But every new game is a new challenge and new aim and today is the same."

  17. Due a winpublished at 11:40 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2021

    Tottenham v Leeds (12:30 GMT)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham have gone four league matches without a win (D2, L2) - a fifth would be their longest such run under Jose Mourinho.

Spurs could fail to score in successive Premier League home fixtures for the first time since 2015.

Manchester United and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, derided, ridiculed and lambasted for the majority of his two years in charge, have got themselves into position of contention, almost when no-one was looking.

Friday's 2-1 victory against Aston Villa took them level with old rivals Liverpool at the top of the Premier League. Apart from the opening weekend of the 2016-17 campaign, that situation has not existed since 2009.

It has created the mouth-watering prospect of a rare meeting between England's two biggest and most successful clubs at Anfield on 17 January, when both can dream of title glory.

  20. 'No excuses'published at 11:32 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2021

    Tottenham v Leeds (12:30 GMT)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho to BT Sport: "I don't want to find any excuses before the game - we have to be focused and optimistic. We didn't play against Fulham so our preparation was nonsense but let's be positive.

"We play with a back four - in different matches we make the best decisions for different opponents.

"We go to the game in a positive way and want to win a difficult match. Leeds are a difficult opponent with a style of playing, they go man to man and that creates difficulties."
